Running back Dalvin Cook recorded 90 rushing yards on 20 rushes. He failed to score a TD but produced productive results nonetheless. Meanwhile, backup running back Alexander Mattison added 36 rushing yards to cap off a quality rushing day for Minnesota.
Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a monster game. He finished with nine catches for a whopping 184 receiving yards. Cousins caught two touchdowns and reminded everyone how talented he truly is.
The Vikings’ defense limited a potent Packers offense to seven points. They sacked Aaron Rodgers four times in the game.
Minnesota has to be happy with their 1-0 record to start the season. However, improving to 2-0 will not be easy in Philadelphia on Monday night.

The Eagles entered last week expecting to win despite playing on the road. But the Lions gave them all they could handle.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts endured an up-and-down performance. He went just 18-32 with no touchdowns. But he did post 243 passing yards while throwing no interceptions. Hurts had some good moments despite the all-around underwhelming effort.
But he stepped things up in the ground game. Hurts finished with 90 rushing yards on a team-leading 17 rushes. Hurts also scored a rushing touchdown.
Miles Sanders recorded 96 yards and a touchdown on 13 rushes out of the Eagles backfield. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott both scored touchdowns as well for Philadelphia.
There is no question that the rushing attack set the tone on offense in this shootout affair.
However, A.J. Brown was able to reel in 10 receptions for 155 yards. The wide receiver stood out despite the Eagles’ struggles through the air.
The defense had no answer for Lions running back D’Andre Swift. They were able to pick QB Jared Goff off once, but the Eagles were fortunate to win this game even though they surrendered 35 points.
Philadelphia won’t win many games moving forward if their defense plays like it did a week ago. They will need to step things up against a more talented Vikings offensive team.
