The Rockies scored two early to immediately place the pressure on the Dodgers. But Los Angeles utilized a five-run fourth to earn the win.
Kyle Freeland pitched well through the first three innings before falling apart in the fourth. His final line read 3.2 innings pitched, five runs, five hits, and six strikeouts.
Charlie Blackmon, Randal Grichuk, and Jose Iglesias all totaled one RBI to account for the Rockies’ three runs in the game. Colorado also finished with seven total hits in the contest.
Kris Bryant made his debut after signing a multi-year deal with the Rockies over the offseason. The former MVP went 1-4 with a walk in the first game of his Rockies career.
The Rockies are hopeful that German Marquez can lead them to a rebound win at home on Saturday night.
