Cincinnati Reds at Atlanta Braves Betting Preview
The series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Atlanta Braves continues on as the teams prepare for the third of four games. Wednesday night’s contest promises to be a fun one. And as the preview rolls ahead, make sure to head to Online Betting Sports in order to stake your boldest best on the midweek showdown.
The Reds have been playing solid baseball but will have to find a way atop their division to guarantee their playoff spot. The NL West is a serious problem with all the great teams there, so it is not as simple as past years. Still, though, a 61-52 record is not bad for a franchise that has constantly failed to rise to expectations over the past decade or so. This is a good sign.
For the Braves, a 57-55 record to this point is laughable. Yes, they are missing Ronald Acuna Jr. very badly. But they were losing when he was in the lineup as well. There are some great hitters here that are doing their job. The starting rotation, when healthy, has been as good as any in the NL, really. But, consistency and health are two major problems in ATL. It is always something new with these guys.

Reds Seeking Win No. 62
The Reds have been playing good baseball of late, and it is fantastic to see. There are a number of power hitters in the lineup, which is led by Eugenio Suarez, Joey Votto, and Jesse Winker. It has also been nice to see Nick Castellanos hitting the ball deep to left. He’s batting .320 on the season and continuing to get better with age in the majors.
Votto had a home run streak where he went deep in seven straight games. With all the trade rumors he has been in over the years, he’s still crushing dingers for a Reds ball club. And one that is trending in the right direction.
Braves Seeking Return to Glory
57-55 is very bad for a team as talented as Atlanta. And the head-scratching thing about the matter is that there is no one thing to point to that can be fixed. Their bats have been coming through. The starting rotation for them is relatively decent. And they have a closer who, more often than not, finishes the close games for them, in Will Smith.
Perhaps it should mean Brian Snitker manages the next 50 games for his future job? Maybe it is not as secure we are all led to believe? They need to win more.
Wade Miley Gets the Nod for CIN
#3 starter Wade Miley will make his 21st start of the season. He has posted a 9-4 record with a solid 2.75 ERA across 121 innings of work. He has struck out 93 batters while walking 38.
All in all, Miley has done the job asked of him to this point and has been the team’s best starter.
Touki Toussaint Starting for ATL
25-year-old Touki Toussaint will jog out for the Braves tonight. This marks his fifth start of the 2021 year, and through the first four, he’s been solid.
Across 22 1/3 innings, Toussaint has struck out 23 batters while walking just six. He’s allowed four home runs and has a 4.43 ERA, but he’ll figure things out.
Reds Win
The Braves will fall short in Wednesday evening’s matchup, falling to just one game over .500.
