Arkansas also enjoyed a solid, albeit inconsistent, 2021 season. They weren’t dominant by any means, but they played fairly well. The Razorbacks will look to kick off their season with a home victory in this one.

The Razorbacks enter this game as the home favorites. Arkansas features a strong home-field advantage and will look to use that to their advantage and get their season started with a bang.
But the Bearcats are capable without question. They are a team that doesn’t pay attention to the odds, and they are no strangers to pulling off upsets. If last year taught us anything, it is to never count the Bearcats out.
- The Cincinnati Bearcats were 8-6 against the spread last season.

Betting on Cincinnati Bearcats
Cincinnati enjoyed a terrific regular season that saw them go undefeated last year. They did not have the strongest strength of schedule, but Cincinnati still took care of business.
One of their most impressive victories they had was a victory against Notre Dame in October of last season. The Bearcats won the game 24-13, which many felt was the win that propelled them to the playoffs.
They also took care of respectable schools like SMU and Houston later in the season. But the Bearcats ultimately lost to Alabama in the playoffs.
Nevertheless, the Bearcats certainly enter 2022 with confidence coming off their 2021 campaign.
One major note is that the Bearcats know who their quarterback will be on Saturday. However, they decided to not formally announce it. More college teams are taking that strategy to earn an advantage.
The Cincinnati defense was solid last year. It was not perfect, but they did a good job of containing offenses. But they will need to play extremely well if the Bearcats want to pull off the upset on Saturday.
Betting on Arkansas Razorbacks
The Razorbacks were one of college football’s streakiest teams in 2021.
The Razorbacks opened their season with four consecutive victories. One of those wins came against Texas, and another was Texas A&M. So, they weren’t facing a bunch of lackluster opponents.
But Arkansas got a brutal reality check against George in Week 5. The Bulldogs dominated against them and won by a final score of 37-0.
That led to three straight losses for the Razorbacks.
But they rebounded by winning five of their final six games. Their only loss during that stretch came against Alabama. But they narrowly were defeated 42-35 by the Crimson Tide.
One has to wonder if the Razorbacks will be in line for a more consistent 2022 campaign. They flashed potential last year and could be on the verge of a terrific year.
The Razorbacks expect to feature a potent offense as well as a capable defense. Arkansas has plenty of players returning, while Cincinnati lost a number of players following the 2021 season. Arkansas is sitting pretty, heading into this matchup.
Cincinnati Bearcats at Arkansas Razorbacks Picks and Predictions
This game projects to be a competitive and exciting affair.
The Razorbacks are returning a number of key players. Meanwhile, Cincinnati lost Desmond Ridder and other vital pieces to the puzzle from a season ago. Almost everyone around the college football world is predicting regression for Cincinnati.
The Bearcats obviously still believe in themselves. But Arkansas will be a team on a mission. They are likely upset about that difficult three-game stretch last year, so they will not take any game for granted.
Look for Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson to produce impressive results on Saturday. He will be helped out by the fact that Arkansas also has a strong rushing attack. The Razorbacks’ balanced offense should lead them to the win.
But can they cover the spread? According to most sportsbooks, Arkansas is listed as a 6.5-point favorite. As long as the Razorbacks’ defense holds up their end of the bargain, Arkansas will cover the spread with ease.
Finally, the total is set at around 51-53 points. Different sportsbooks feature a varying mark on the total. In the end, I like rolling with the over on the total in this game.
Arkansas’ strength is their offense. It would not be surprising to see them post 35 or more points. Meanwhile, Cincinnati will likely score a decent amount of points as well. They should land somewhere in the mid-20s.
And if that comes to fruition, this contest will hit the over without question.
