But bettors are more concerned about this matchup against Toronto. Kyle Bradish (1-4, 6.42) is the scheduled starter for the Orioles in this one. He will look to lead the O’s to an upset over the Blue Jays in Toronto.
If Baltimore can get Kikuchi out of the game early and provide Bradish with plenty of run support, that will be the key to upsetting the odds.
The O’s will need their bullpen to step up as well and keep the Blue Jays’ bats at bay once Bradish exits the game.

The Blue Jays were defeated in two out of three games against the Guardians. Cleveland has been red hot as of late, and the Blue Jays found that out the hard way. Nonetheless, this is a talented Toronto team.
The Blue Jays are one of the best teams in the American League. Their elite offense tends to pick up the slack in most games, as the pitching is far from perfect.
Toronto is second in batting average, fourth in WHIP, fourth in slugging percentage, sixth in runs scored, and seventh in home runs. But they are just 18th in team ERA, 10th WHIP, 24th in home runs allowed, and 21st in batting average against.
If the Jays can reel in their pitching woes, they will be extremely dangerous moving forward.
And speaking of pitching woes, Yusei Kikuchi (4-6, 5.13) is scheduled to start for the Blue Jays on Monday. The left-hander has labored all season long. He will try to right the ship at home against the Orioles.
Toronto is hopeful that Kikuchi can get them through five or six innings. If he does that, they will hand things off to the bullpen and look for the relievers to shut the door.
But the Blue Jays’ success will be determined by their offense in the end. They will need the bats to produce enough run support to back Kikuchi in this game.

So which team should you place your money on?
From a pitching standpoint, neither team holds an advantage. Both Kikuchi and Bradish have struggled, and this may very well turn into a bullpen game early.
So whichever team’s bullpen buckles down and limits the opposing offense will win this game. And the Orioles have a sneaky good bullpen. Meanwhile, Toronto’s bullpen has a number of question marks.
But the Blue Jays’ offense has the potential to completely take control of any game. So if they can get enough runs on the scoreboard against Bradish, Toronto should be able to take care of business.
This should be a competitive, high-scoring game. The Orioles lineup might be able to score a decent amount of runs against Kikuchi and the Blue Jays as well.
But they won’t be able to keep up with the Blue Jays.
With that being said, taking the over on the total is intriguing. Most sportsbooks list the total somewhere around nine runs.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if the Blue Jays scored close to that amount on their own. So take the over on the total.
As for the game itself, I like Toronto as the favorite. Their firepower should carry them to a win on Monday.
