While it was a challenging first week at Wimbledon due to rain and inclement weather, the quarter-final scene in both the men’s and women’s draws is starting to take shape. There are still four fourth-round games to start on Monday and one (Novak Djokovic vs Hubert Hurkacz) to finish. That leaves us with just one quarter-final matchup set thus far: Jannik Sinner vs Roman Safiullin.
Sinner, who has the third-shortest odds to win the third Grand Slam in the tennis schedule at +1000, is a massive favorite in this match and is looking to reach his first-ever Grand Slam semifinal. He made the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2022 and has been to the quarters in each of the four Grand Slams.
Safiullin, meanwhile, was the world No. 92 heading into Wimbledon and had little to no momentum. He lost in the Round of 16 at the Mallorca Open at the end of June and previously was eliminated from the Round of 32 at the Halle Open. Before that, he failed to qualify for the Stuttgart Open. He hasn’t been past the Round of 16 at an ATP Tour event this season, but here he is with the opportunity of a lifetime.
With that in mind, let’s check out the Sinner vs Safiullin odds and betting tips for the quarter-final match. By the looks of it, we should be in for one exciting tennis bout!

Jannik Sinner vs Roman Safiullin Betting Preview
Jannik Sinner Preview
Sinner, one of the best grass court players on the ATP Tour and leading Wimbledon picks needed just three sets to beat Galan in the fourth round and set up the Sinner vs Safiullin quarter-final match. Despite playing only 54 percent on his first serve, he won 85 percent of those points and 72 percent of points on second serve. Sinner had 12 aces and only one double fault while winning three of 20 break points.
Sinner has now lost just one set through the first four rounds at Wimbledon. He previously defeated Quentin Halys 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, and before that recorded straight-set victories over Diego Schwartzman and Juan Cerundolo.
Sinner has one tournament victory this season and seven in his brief career, but the world No. 8 is still seeking his first career Grand Slam victory.
- Sinner has a 12-1 set record at Wimbledon.
- Sinner is 36-10 this season, including 7-2 on grass.
- Sinner is 1-0 against Safiullin in his career.
- Sinner has spent eight hours and 34 minutes on the court.
Sinner has been on the court for two hours less than his opponent, making him an even bigger favorite in the Sinner vs. Safiullin odds. He has also played only 119 games compared to Safiullin, who has played 153 games through 15 sets. Sinner had 41 winners and 23 unforced errors in his fourth-round victory over Galan. He was also 19/25 in net approaches. Sinner is the stronger grasscourt player and should be more rested than Safiullin. Expect a four-set victory for the talented Italian.
Roman Safiullin Preview
Safiullin is somewhat fortunate to be in this position; his first quarter-final appearance at Wimbledon and the furthest he has been at any Grand Slam. The 25-year-old Russian is just 22-22 in his career on the ATP Tour and certainly wasn’t favored in tennis odds ahead of Wimbledon.
He scored a five-set upset victory over Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round and has since beaten Corentin Moutet, Guido Pella, and Denis Shapovalov. Safiullin had six aces and was 5-for-9 on breakpoint opportunities against Shapovalov.
Safiullin, however, was playing quite poorly prior to Wimbledon, failing to get past the Round of 16 in an ATP Tour event this season. He has won most of his matches in tournament qualifying and on the Challenger Tour.
- Safiullin is 29-16 on grass this season, including 9-3 on grass.
- Safiullin is 0-1 in his career against Sinner.
- Safiullin hadn’t been past the second round at a Grand Slam prior to this year’s Wimbledon.
Safiullin has been on the court more than two hours longer than Sinner, but that’s largely from his five-set first-round match against Bautista Agut. He had 51 winners and 26 unforced errors in his last match against Shapovalov and was 18-for-23 in net approaches.
Safiullin has caught each of his first four opponents off guard at Wimbledon but should be in tough against Sinner, who is among the best grass court players on the ATP Tour. He may make Sinner work hard for the win but don’t expect him to pull off an upset.

Jannik Sinner vs Roman Safiullin Odds & Picks
Sinner was a pre-tournament favorite, and his Wimbledon stats have been impressive through four rounds. Expect him to keep rolling against Safiullin, who is a massive underdog in his first-ever Grand Slam quarter-final. A 3-1 set victory for Sinner is paying out +225.
- Pick 1: Sinner 3-1 set victory +225.
Sinner is also listed with a -6.5 (-110) games handicap, which feels like a fairly safe bet, given his favorite status. Assuming the match goes as expected with Sinner dominating, the under 35.5 (-125) total games is another decent bet. Sinner should take this one 6-2, 6-7 (7-4), 6-1, 6-1.
- Pick 2: Sinner -6.5 (-110).
