Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

The Broncos and Seahawks will play their second preseason game this Saturday evening with a late start time of 9 pm. The Broncos will try to replicate the success from NFL week one, while Seattle will work to tighten things up a bit in NFL week two.

After a 5-11 year in 2020, Denver is in a position where they had to make moves for their team’s success. They had a solid offseason, adding depth through free agency and a solid 2021 draft. The Broncos were also able to lock up some key players to make sure they are with the team for the near future, not just on a franchise tag.

This offseason, Seattle dealt with lots of drama, with several rumors and speculation of their QB1 Russell Wilson wanting to be traded. It seemed like every other hour, and there was a new rumor about where Wilson wanted to go. In June, Wilson told reporters that these were all fake, and he was ready to roll in Seattle. He did not play in NFL week one but has made comments about wanting to get in this weekend.

Broncos Look to Solidify the Quarterback Spot

Denver is in a tough spot with two quarterbacks currently on their roster who are not the upper echelons of quarterbacks; however, one of them has to be the starter. Both Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater took reps in game one, and it would be safe to assume they would both receive reps in game two.

Live game reps will be what wins this job. Who can get it done when the game is on the line? Both guys looked solid. Bridgewater was seven for eight for 74 yards and threw a touchdown pass. Lock was 5 for 7 for 151 yards and two touchdown passes, highlighted by an 80-yard touchdown pass to KJ Hamler. Both guys will need to have a solid week two if they want to stay in the hunt for a QB1 job.

Seattle’s Offseason Acquisitions

The Seahawks, who finished 12-4 in 2020, look to repeat as NFC West champions in 2021. If they are going to do this, they need to find Wilson another weapon as well as find a way to give him a little more protection when he is in the pocket. The Seahawks took to the draft and took wide receiver D’Wayne Eskridge from Central Michigan as far as a new weapon. A huge potential playmaker with blazing speed.

The team also went out and traded for Gabe Jackson, an offensive guard for the Las Vegas Raiders. A protection piece that shows Wilson they want to keep him healthy in Seattle. The defense also got better with the addition of Kerry Hyder for the defensive line.

Broncos Win

While Wilson may get a few reps in this game Saturday night, he is not going to be out there long. Their two star wide receivers, Lockett and Metcalf, will also play minimal series. There is not a whole lot of lineup discretion in Seattle, and it seems everyone knows their role.

A different story across the field as both quarterbacks are giving their best efforts to become the starting quarterback in 2021. These guys played a lot in NFL week one, which makes it safe to assume they will get several reps in game two as there was no clear winner.
