With the NFL Draft on the horizon, a number of exciting young QBs recently had their quarterback pro days. QBs such as Bryce Young and CJ Stroud don’t have much left to prove, but they still performed at the pro days. Others, such as Will Levis and Anthony Richardson, are looking to establish themselves as future stars.
Let’s take a look at all four of these quarterbacks’ pro days, beginning with Alabama’s Bryce Young.

Bryce Young, Alabama
Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are expected to compete for the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. QBs are back after defenders stole the show in the 2022 NFL Draft. In fact, quarterbacks didn’t leave much of a mark at all last year.
That is clearly not the narrative this season, with Young and Stroud leading the charge.
Young displayed solid accuracy, completing 44 of his 50 pass attempts at pro-day. Overall, Young didn’t blow anybody away with his pro-day performance. However, he certainly didn’t hurt his stock.
Young has the potential to be a superstar in the NFL. Some have questioned his height, but he was able to manage in college. Young will be fine moving forward if his height doesn’t lead to performance concerns.
One area where he did boost his stock was in terms of poise. Believe it or not, as talented as all of these future NFL players are, some prospects lose their cool and struggle during pro days.
Stroud looked cool, calm, and collected. He certainly has the poise to succeed at the next level. That was arguably the biggest takeaway.
CJ Stroud, Ohio State
CJ Stroud had one of the better all-around performances at his pro day. The former Ohio State standout is projected by many to go No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft for a reason.
We knew Stroud had the ability to be a strong pocket QB. Sure, he missed some deep passes, but Stroud is unquestionably a tremendous passer. How will he perform out of the pocket, and can Stroud scramble at a respectable level?
Stroud demonstrated passable out-of-pocket mobility and awareness at his pro day. Sure, it wasn’t an actual game, but his performance likely turned some heads nonetheless.
There aren’t many other questions regarding Stroud’s talent. He accomplished everything he needed to.
It will be interesting to see how Stroud performs as a leader. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day previously commented on Stroud’s leadership ability, per on3.com.
“But then sometimes it’s just good to pull CJ out,” Day said of Stroud. “Because he’s very intelligent and kind of figure out how to, you know, keep growing with him and teach at his level while you don’t leave the other guys behind.”
Stroud is an intelligent QB, as Day said. He’s going to lead by example and could become a true franchise QB.
Will Levis, Kentucky
Will Levis has a big arm. Levis’ throwing power was the talk of the NFL combined, but his accuracy has sometimes been questioned.
Levis, 23, is a college football veteran of sorts. He understands how to succeed at that level which is why he was able to find success. He was able to get away with certain mistakes as well.
However, Levis won’t have as much room for error in the NFL. Additionally, he won’t be able to lean on his powerful throwing arm.
The biggest takeaway for Levis comes down to uncertainty. What kind of QB is Levins, really? Can he develop into a mobile player with scrambling prowess and out-of-pocket passing ability?
Sure, the big throws are great for creating a social media reel. Levis needs to prove he’s more than that, though.
Levis even admitted that he needs to improve in the accuracy department, per Sports Illustrated.
“Just improving accuracy with efficient movements,” Levis said in reference to what he wants to improve on. “I think I have as talented an arm as anybody, and even when I don’t have efficient movements, and I’m off base a little bit, I can still pull it off because of how strong my arm is. But to get my feet in the right spot, to be consistent and efficient with my delivery, has been the biggest part for me.”
This was certainly a very aware take. Levis understands what he needs to work on, which is crucial for his development.
He has the potential to become a star, but it will be interesting to see if he can maximize that potential.
Anthony Richardson, Florida
Anthony Richardson hasn’t had his pro day yet, so let’s go ahead and break down what he needs to show on Thursday for his Florida pro day.
For Richardson, his future is predicated on decision-making. He has the ability to make plays out of the pocket as a result of his athleticism and passable throwing accuracy. However, he tends to rely on leaving the pocket far too often.
Yes, the same could be said for Patrick Mahomes, but the fact is that there aren’t many QBs with the same level of talent as Mahomes. He can get away with leaving the pocket on a consistent basis.
Richardson would benefit from trusting himself and remaining in the pocket until it collapses. With that being said, Richardson excels in the rushing attack and shouldn’t be afraid to use his legs when necessary.
In the NFL, though, QBs need to trust their arm. Richardson is a good passer, so staying in the pocket will benefit his overall game.
Richardson can help himself out by demonstrating accuracy in the pocket on Thursday. Scouts are aware of his immense talent already, but he can still boost his NFL Draft stock.
