Best Odds to Win NFL Coach of the Year
The NFL season is about to get underway and there’s no better feeling than calling your shot and getting it right. Today, we will be tackling the NFL Coach of the Year Award.
It doesn’t always go to the coach with the best record but this year, it seems to be a foregone conclusion of where we should be placing our wagers to get great value. Let’s talk about each coach with the best odds.
TOP #3 Sports Betting Sites to Bet on NFL
BRANDON STALEY (+1000)
The brand new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers currently has the best odds to win the award and with good reason as quarterback Justin Herbert is going into his second season.
However, given the fact that they are in a division with the Kansas City Chiefs makes me hesitant to pull the trigger here. A lot would need to go right for the Chargers to win the division and that’s the only way I could realistically see Staley winning the Coach of the Year Award.
URBAN MEYER (+1200)
The Jacksonville Jaguars have had one the better changes in the guard as we have seen. They traded away quarterback Gardner Minshew III to the Philadelphia Eagles for a draft pick and selected quarterback Trevor Lawrence as the number one pick in the NFL Draft.
However, this team seems to have a small ceiling of six wins in his NFL rookie head coaching season. Rookie running back Travis Etienne is expected to miss the entire season with a Lisfranc injury and that will stunt the offensive output by the Jags. This team just had the first overall pick and they don’t seem to have the talent or coach to get them outside the top 10 pick this season as well.
ARTHUR SMITH (+1300)
The Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Falcons are two completely different offenses and that seems to be an issue that pops up with new Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith. The Falcons are a pass-heavy offense that is trying to replace star wide receiver Julio Jones and did not sure up their incredibly weak defense.
The passing defense for the Falcons was abysmal as they allowed 293.6 passing yards per game. Smith isn’t going to be able to fix that overnight and I fully expect this to be a multi-year rebuild and this season to be an adjustment.
BILL BELICHICK (+1400)
This is my choice to win the NFL Coach of the Year. Last season had everything go wrong with the New England Patriots as they needed to replace quarterback Tom Brady and a lot of defensive starters opted out of the season due to COVID concerns.
Belichick upgraded the roster with free agency and drafting quarterback Mac Jones to be the starter out of the gate. The defense is back together and Bill Belichick is still the mad genius whether or not people want to admit it. The Pats have an easy schedule, especially earlier in the season. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Patriots win the AFC East this season either.
