Bears and Cyclones Set to Battle
The Iowa State Cyclones and the Baylor Bears collide on Saturday for what will be the opening conference game for both of these squads. Iowa State comes into the game 2-1 and ranked #14 in the country. Baylor comes into the game unranked, but receiving votes at 3-0. This is going to be a really good test for both of these teams as they look to open Big 12 play.
They both are going to be able to score points, and both of their defenses are looking solid early in the season. There is going to be a lot of online betting for this game as Big 12 match-ups are popular for online bettors. Look for this to be a really close match-up in Waco this weekend.

TOP #3 Sports Betting Sites to Bet on NCAAF
Bears are Looking to Prove Themselves
Despite playing at home, the Baylor Bears are a 6.5 point underdog. The Bears are an offensive threat but have not yet been tested by a good defense. Baylor gains 558.7 yards per game, and the Cyclones defense only allows 192.7 yards a game.
This is going to lead to a very interesting match-up that the defense usually wins. However, Iowa State has not been tested by a great offense yet as two of their games have been against Northern Iowa and UNLV. Iowa was able to move the ball on them but still didn’t have a lot of success.
Cyclones Have a Shot to Cover
You can use three sportsbooks to do your online betting. The spread is interesting this weekend as BETUS, Bovada, and BetOnline all have the spread at 6.5 points in favor of Iowa State. I like that line to put a unit on Iowa State. Historically, Iowa State has won games in a close fashion. They rarely blow out teams under Head Coach Matt Campbell.
I don’t think they will blow out Baylor by any means, but they are the better team. I look for this game to be close throughout, but if the line stays under seven points, I would take Iowa State to cover. However, later in the week, if the line bounces up to seven points or more, I would heavily consider taking Baylor to cover the spread.
Baylor and Iowa State can Score Points
The total provided to us for the Baylor vs Iowa State game is interesting for a few reasons.
Baylor is known for scoring points, and Iowa State is not. However, both teams are averaging more points than the total listed for this game. In Baylor games, there is an average of 52.2 points per game being scored, while for Iowa State, there is an average of 49.0 points a game.
BetOnline and Bovada have the over/under set at 48 points, while BETUS has the over/under at 47.5 points. I would take the over on anything under 50 points. There should be a lot of points scored this weekend.
Iowa State has Looked Like a Playoff Contender
Iowa State opened their season with Northern Iowa and played a close game. However, under Campbell, the Cyclones always play their early-season opponents close. They looked solid against Iowa, a top 5 team in the country, and then dispatched UNLV easily. I look for them not to have a ton of trouble with Baylor as Iowa State is a much better team.
BetUs has the moneyline at -245 for Iowa State at -245 and +205 for Baylor. Bovada has the moneyline at -240 for Iowa State and +200 for Baylor. I think the best bet here is to actually put a unit on Baylor as they could sneak out a win, but the spread would be a better avenue to bet on this matchup. Look for BETUS to provide their moneyline later this week.
