According to BetUs, New York Yankees are coming into the match as favorites, priced at -125 to win the match, while Boston Red Sox are +115 to take the W. BetOnline have pretty similar betting odds, with Yankees being priced at -124 and Red Sox at +114.
The betting spread at BetUs is set at 1.5 runs, with Yankees priced +130 to cover and with Red Sox at -150 to keep the game close. Once again, BetOnline have almost identical odds, +130 for Yankees to cover and -152 for Red Sox to keep it close.

New York Yankees are Back
It has been a wild ride for Yankees fans this MLB season. A season where there seemed to be inconsistency just about every week out of this lineup, they have managed to turn their year around and find themselves in the postseason. Cole has pitched in four games against the Red Sox this season and has a 2-2 record. His most recent start against the Red Sox was also at Fenway, and the Yankees wound up losing that game.
Red Sox Stay Hot
Coming to the singular playoff game gives your team an immediate advantage if you have some momentum. The Red Sox sweeping the Washington Nationals is exactly what the team needed. The Red Sox have dealt with a series of injuries all season, but it seems like everyone is coming back healthier than ever and ready to go.
The thing this Red Sox team does have is the leadership needed to be successful. Their most successful guys, J.D. Martinez, Xander Bogaerts, and Rafael Devers, all of whom have been to the playoffs and know the pressure. The newcomers to the team, Kyle Schwarber and Alex Verdugo have joined and fit right in, batting .266 for Schwarber and .289 for Verdugo.
Taking the mound for Boston tonight will be Nathan Eovaldi. Coming into this game, Eovaldi has a record of 11-9 and a 3.75 ERA. Eovaldi has also been racking up the strikeouts this season, recording 195 in 182 innings. Eovaldi made six starts against the Yankees this season and walked away with a 2-2 record.
