How To Bet on Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen
Wow, what a fight the matchmakers are putting on for us this weekend.
Holloway, the one-time consensus GOAT of the UFC featherweight division, is coming off the most one-sided loss of his career and looking to prove why he belongs at the top.
Allen is getting the biggest opportunity of his career, earning his way to this stage by keeping his head down and winning fights.
The UFC odds for this featherweight main event have been moving quite a bit lately. Currently, at the beginning of fight week, Holloway is sitting as the -178 betting favorite over the +153 Arnold Allen.
Given Holloway’s track record, these lines are no surprise. The over 4.5 rounds odds are set at -140, meaning that oddsmakers believe this one is going to the judges. Holloway hasn’t had a fight end inside the distance since the doctor stoppage in his fight with Ortega back in 2018.
Allen showed the “dog” he had inside of him when he put himself into a fire-fight with Dan Hooker in front of a London crowd back in March of 2022 – which ended in a 1st round TKO win. Then, Allen finished Calvin Kattar in his next bout, but that was due to Kattar blowing out his knee.
Make sure to do the proper research before placing bets on the UFC. MMA is the most unpredictable sport in the world, and you will lose money fast if you aren’t taking every pick seriously.
Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen Betting Picks
This is one of the tougher fights to pick so far in the year 2023. Even with all the closely matched fights we have seen, this one stands out. We have to choose between a kid that seems like he can’t lose and an all-time great coming off a tough trilogy with the current champ.
Without any bias, Max Holloway is still the greatest featherweight of all time. When you look at what he has done in that division and then add that he is only 31 years old, it is amazing to think that Holloway might have another title run in him.
Nowadays, Holloway is treating his body well outside of camp and not even sparring in preparation for fights. This is a massive deal now that we have more and more insight into how to protect your body and most importantly, your brain.
If Holloway comes into the fight healthy and with the same durability as every other time he steps into the octagon, he is going to have a big night.
Be ready to see Holloway make a statement with his performance in front of an exciting Kansas City crowd. He does best when he thinks people are overlooking him, and after his worst loss yet, he is going to be ready to remind everybody who he is.
Holloway is going to go into this one with a game plan of putting a lot of pressure on Allen. Allen likes a lot of space to stay in kicking range and uses a lot of energy to set up big shots. Holloway is going to be able to fight behind his world-class jab and counter a lot of kicks early on.
Don’t be surprised if Holloway breaks down Allen over four rounds and then gets a late finish to seal the deal. It is going to be hard for Allen to keep coming forward if his nose is busted from that jab and he is hurt to the body.

Bonus! Other Fights Worth Placing a Bet On
UFC Featherweight Co-Main Event: Edson Barboza (+146) vs Billy Quarantillo (-166)
This is another great scrap in the featherweight division on this card. The living legend Barboza is looking to get back into the winning column after dropping two straight to a pair of the most talented fighters in the division. His kicks are going to be too much for Quarantillo, and Barboza has a ton of value as an underdog.
UFC Bantamweight Main Card: Pedro Munhoz (+177) vs Chris Gutierrez (-207)
This is an interesting fight with an older veteran gatekeeping the top 10 for a younger Chris Gutierrez to come to prove his abilities. Munhoz looked like he took an easy way out in his last fight against O’Malley.
Is his confidence going to be there this weekend? There is a good reason that Gutierrez is the favorite in this one.
UFC Flyweight Bout: Brandon Royval (+175) vs Matheus Nicolau (-205)
This might be the best underdog pick of the night. Royval continues to be an interesting prospect at 125 lbs.
It’s surprising that he isn’t marketed much by the UFC; he is one of the most exciting fighters on the roster. Be prepared to see a fast-paced fight with an incredible finish at the end of it.
