TOP #3 Sports Betting Sites to Bet on MMA
Bovada is a great sportsbook to sign up for and get nice promos for your first bets. They don’t have the best odds compared to the other sportsbooks for this bout, but you can get some free money to make plays with.
BetOnline has the best odds right now for prop bets, though. The moneyline isn’t always the most valuable play, and it pays to be creative with your picks and go with the method of victory or over/under bets.
Betting Trends
The most important thing to understand is how betting works for Bellator fights. This promotion is not as popular or as high level as the UFC, so the money lines are important to look at.
A trend to think about is that in the main events of the 2021 Bellator year, 11 of the 17 betting favorites won their fights. The betting favorite has a very good record in Bellator.
In 2021, all betting favorites went 143-48 on the year. That is something to keep in mind in betting on Bellator 286.
Adam Borics opened up at +150 with BetOnline, and now he is as low as +120 in most sportsbooks.
Betting on Patricio Pitbull
Patricio Pitbull is a legend of Bellator and MMA as a whole. Twenty-three out of his 33 wins have come with a finish. After losing a title fight last year against McKee, he came back making adjustments for the rematch and reclaimed the throne of the featherweight division.
Pitbull is just a great all-around mixed martial artist. He has power in his hands, throwing great kicks and combinations to set up big shots. He also is a black belt in BJJ, so he can strangle anybody when he gets them on the ground.
The only time Pitbull has ever lost when he was the betting favorite was his first meeting with A.J. McKee for the title last year. That is an almost 100% win rate when betting on him as the favorite. That is something to keep in mind when making a play on this fight.
Betting on Adam Borics
Adam Borics is the top-ranked contender in Bellator’s featherweight division. The Hungarian 29-year-old is a black belt in Kempo and trains at one of the best MMA gyms around, Sanford MMA.
Borics is 18-1 and has ten finishes. He likes to grapple and use his submission skills to finish fights, but he also has one submission loss. To go along with the danger, he is on the ground; he has developed a great striking game as well.
“The Kid” will for sure throw a few flying knees on a short opponent like Pitbull. These can be devastating blows but also can just keep Pitbull at a distance if he wants to start shooting for takedowns.
Borics is the younger, hungrier fighter that has a lot of ways to win this fight. It will be interesting to see the explosive kid with all the momentum go up against an MMA legend with all the experience.
Patricio Pitbull vs. Adam Borics Picks and Predictions
When betting the moneyline, you know the trends for Bellator. The majority of the favorites in these big fights win. But with the betting odds being so close, there is a lot of value in an Adam Borics pick here at +130.
But the safest bet is going to be the Pitbull moneyline. It is tough to ever bet against the champion when he is the favorite in oddsmakers’ eyes. He is too solid all around in the cage and figures out ways to win time and time again.
- The over/under is still not set at any of the major sportsbooks. Either way, I don’t see this fight going more than three rounds. Both fighters are way too explosive, and they both are looking for a finish here.
Borics can finish Pitbull with a flying knee at any given moment or take his back on the ground in a scramble. Pitbull can land a big overhand or sink in any submission on the ground that comes his way. This will be an exciting fight, and I don’t see it going the distance.
- Even with the moneyline being the easiest bet with these valuable odds set for both fighters, the best bet should be something interesting. Go with a prop bet that has Pitbull winning inside the distance at +205.
Pitbull has never been knocked out, and he has the ability to catch Borics in a bad position in the cage on Saturday night. Look for a big over hand to land or ground and pound to hurt Borics enough for the referee to call the fight.
