Philadelphia Phillies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview
After an off-day Monday, the Philadelphia Phillies will head to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks in the first game of this three-game series. This will be the first time these two teams have played each other this season; if you’re looking to bet on this game, head over to Online Betting Sports
The Phillies are currently one and a half games back in the division behind the Atlanta Braves. This race to the end of the season could be great for the fans. The Phillies have to be relieved to take on the Diamondbacks for a three-game stint after the last two series with the Reds and the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks are currently tied for last with the worst record in baseball. One of only two teams to not be at least at 40 wins so far this season, the Orioles are also at only 38 wins. Winning three out of four against San Diego has to be a confidence booster.
If the Diamondbacks’ most recent success makes you confident in their ability to get a win, bet the Diamondbacks at Online Betting Sports.
The betting picks for the game will be below.

Phillies look to Move Up This Week
The Phillies have to find a way to take at least two out of three this week. Playing one of the worst teams in baseball, being in the division chase has to give these guys a greater purpose for trying to win this game.
A potential MVP candidate is slowly brewing in this Phillies lineup as well. Bryce Harper has been dominating this season. He is hitting just under .300 with 21 home runs and 49 RBI’s, and he is doing his job in this lineup. Pair him with the hot bat of Jean Segura, and you have a potent lineup.
Diamondbacks Continue the Gauntlet
The Diamondbacks have played one of the hardest schedules the last three weeks. In their last 16 games, the Diamondbacks have played the Giants, the Dodgers, and the Padres. All teams are competing to win a division. It does not get any easier with the Phillies coming to town.
After a hamstring injury, Ketel Marte is back for Arizona and has picked up right where he left off. With multi-hit games in three of his last five, Marte is the only real bright spot in this lineup. Had he been healthy at the trade deadline, it’s safe to assume Marte would have been dealt as well.
Kyle Gibson will start for the Phillies
Making his fourth start in a Phillies uniform, Kyle Gibson will be Philadelphia’s starting pitcher. He currently has a 2-1 record for Philadelphia, with his one loss coming in his last start against the Dodgers.
Gibson is a pitch-to-contact style pitcher. He is not going to blow it by hitters, which means the defense has to be solid behind him. In three starts, he has only recorded 11 strikeouts. Something to make note of, if his control is not there, he can start to walk guys, nine so far in three starts.
No Starter for the Diamondbacks
At this time, the Diamondbacks have not announced a starting pitcher for tonight’s contest. When looking at the team’s pitching rotation, tonight’s starter should be Merrill Kelly. Unfortunately, Kelly has tested positive for covid over the weekend and will not get the start.
At this moment, it is unknown if the Diamondbacks will turn to their bullpen for this game or if they will give Matt Peacock another spot start.
Phillies Win
The clubhouse over in Arizona is going through a lot, dealing with covid issues with their pitching staff. The Phillies should take full advantage of everything going on in this one and win this game handily.
