Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins Betting Preview
The Chicago White Sox pay a visit to the Minnesota Twins on Monday to begin a series with the Twins. The teams have been on opposite ends of the standings to this point in the year, and there is little in the way of evidence to suggest that this could change before the season’s end. But the show goes on, and Minnesota continues to try and seek some wins out.
The ChiSox have done nothing but win, in spite of a too-old manager and a number of key guys being hurt. They are going to be getting Luis Robert back soon, though, with Eloy Jimenez triumphantly returning with a multi-HR game over the weekend. There are just so many terrific hitters with quality starting pitching for the Sox. They will be competing for a place in the World Series when all is said and done with the regular year.
Minnesota has done nothing but lose, and all has gone against them. After some success in prior years, they have surprised by sinking back into irrelevance. The problem was that while they were winning, they continually got swept in the playoffs. They haven’t won a playoff game in their last five trips there. That is very unusual and might just be how it is for Minnesota sports.
As the teams prepare to battle, Chicago is looking at ways to dominate.

Monday’s spread is set at CHW -1.5. The over/under is set at 9.5 runs. And the CHW moneyline is -190, while MIN’s is +165.
Sox Seeking Win No. 67
As has been the case for a number of years, the Chicago lineup is led by Jose Abreu, who leads the team with 21 HRs and 83 RBIs. He has stayed healthy while so many guys have been missing time, being the staple that holds the lineup together. Tim Anderson is also having another very good campaign, showing the team as smart for giving him the big extension.
The return of Eloy gives them another big bat and a guy they can count on to deliver. Various lineup combos have had to be employed, so it hasn’t exactly been simple. First place is pretty great, though.
Can Twins Dig Out of Hole, Ever?
Trying to find the positives in Minnesota is not an easy thing to do. In basketball, the Wolves are perpetual losers. The Vikings have not been able to get it done in the playoffs. And these guys have not been able to put their stamp on the season at all.
Injuries have played a part, but they just blow leads and look outmatched. When losing like this, getting more reps for the younger guys could help.
Giolito Gets the Nod
It’s been a solid year for Lucas Giolito, who will make his 23rd start of the season. He has posted an 8-8 record with a 3.98 ERA. He has fired off 129 innings, striking out 145 batters while walking 39.
He has been a source of reliability for the team in a season where they have needed the pitchers to stay at their best.
Beau Burrows Set for First Start
Beau Burrows has hardly been used this year, taking the mound just four times. And none of those were as a starter but as a reliever. He has just 7 1/3 innings to his name, with an ERA of 8.59.
Perhaps this is the time to try something new and see if it might be able to work. Anything goes if you’re trying to improve.

The Twins aren’t taking the W here, as the White Sox will improve to 67-46. The wins continue to come in.
