WRC departs from the Great Rift Valley in Kenya and heads to the Baltic region for one of the newer additions to the schedule, Rally Estonia. However, after claiming his third win of the WRC season, Sébastian Oiger is not in the field for Rally Estonia, taking one potential rally winner out of the betting lines.

With 21 stages over four days, it’s impossible to completely cover everything in Onlinebettingsports’ WRC Rally Estonia prediction. However, there are realistically five drivers’ who’re likely to win that take our focus.

Overall Rally Info & Outlook

  • FIA World Rally Championship – WRC Rally Estonia
  • Safari Rally winner Sébastian Ogier is not in the field for Rally Estonia, leaving Kalle Rovanperä and Elfyn Evans as the favorites, having finished second and third in Kenya, respectively.

WRC RALLY Estonia Betting Preview

Kalle Rovanperä  – Toyota Gazoo Racing (140 points)

Kalle Rovanperä holds a commanding 42-point advantage atop the Drivers’ Championship standings and is the betting favorite in our WRC Rally Estonia prediction. Having stepped on each step of the podium in the last three rallies, Rovanperä continues a strong season chasing the Drivers’ Championship. Rovanperä is chasing his third consecutive Rally Estonia this weekend and is the oddsmakers’ favorite.

Trends:

  • Rovanperä has finished in the top five in every rally on the 2023 WRC Schedule so far.
  • He has landed on the podium in three consecutive races.
  • Rovanperä has finished first in three power stages.
  • He has scored four podiums in seven rallies: First in Portugal, Second at Safari Rally & Monte Carlo.

Prediction for winning Rally Estonia

Rovanperä is the betting favorite and simply needs to maintain his current form, scoring three consecutive podium finishes to win Rally Estonia.

Ott Tänak – M-Sport World Rally Team (98 points)

Rally Estonia has a history that predates its inclusion into WRC, which is when Ott Tänak scored three of his four Rally Estonia wins (2014, 2018-2020). Tänak is currently fourth in the Drivers’ Championship.

Trends:

  • Tänak has two podiums this season: first in Sweden and second in Croatia.
  • He has finished outside the top five in three of the previous five rallies.
  • Tänak has one first-place and four second-place power stage finishes.
  • He has four top-five finishes in seven rallies.

Prediction for winning Rally Estonia

For Tänak, he needs to convert his rally-winning experience and familiarity with the stages of his home race into a fifth-career win.

Elfyn Evans – Toyota Gazoo Racing (99 points)

Elfyn Evans currently sits second in the Drivers’ standings and is coming off a third-place finish in Kenya.

Trends:

  • Toyota’s Evans has one rally win and one retirement this season.
  • He has three podium finishes in 2023: First in Croatia, Third in Mexico, and Kenya, all coming in the last five rallies.
  • Evans’ best Power Stage finish was a second-place finish in Sweden.
  • Evans finished second in the 2022 edition of Rally Estonia.

Prediction for winning Rally Estonia

For Evans to win Rally Estonia, he could benefit from any time loss to teammate Rovanperä, although oddsmakers see him as a longer shot to win, despite his excellent season so far.

Thierry Neuville – Hyundai Motorsport (93 points)

Thierry Neuville’s recent history in Estonia is better than his recent in WRC. Neuville finished third at the 2021 Rally Estonia. Neuville is fifth in the Drivers’ standings, with a 33rd-place finish in Croatia hurting his WRC Championship bid.

Trends:

  • Neuville was disqualified after an eighth-place finish in Safari Rally.
  • Neuville has finished in the top five in five of seven rallies in 2023.
  • He has one rally win and four podiums on the season: first in Italy, second in Mexico, and third in Monte Carlo and Sweden.
  • Neuville has one Power Stage first-place finish.

Prediction for winning Rally Estonia

First things first for Neuville: don’t get disqualified. Aside from that, Neuville has the pace and skills to capitalize on any mistakes and time losses to take his second win in three races.

Esapekka Lappi – Hyundai Motorsport (69 points)

Esapekka Lappi finished third in the 2019 Rally Estonia and has climbed the oddsmakers’ favorites to be in favorite to land in the top five in 2023.

Trends:

  • Lappi has three podiums this season: second place – in Italy, and third place in Croatia.
  • Lappi has one first-place Power Stage finish (Sweden).
  • His streak of three consecutive podiums ended in Kenya
  • Lappi has finished in the top five in three of seven rallies this season.

Prediction for winning Rally Estonia

For Lappi to win Rally Estonia, he’ll need an error-free weekend and problems for the Toyota duo to emerge as the unexpected winner in Estonia.
