It was somewhat surprising what happened to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 3 of this series. Giving up six goals isn’t necessarily the craziest thing from their standpoint, but them also scoring only two goals was certainly a surprise.
The Avalanche have arguably been the top team in all of hockey in terms of putting the puck in the back of the net all season, and although Andrei Vasilevskiy is going to make it difficult on them, they should be able to do what they did in Games 1 and 2.
Scoring seven goals like they did in Game 2 might not be replicated again, but they certainly have enough offensive weapons to do so.
Colorado isn’t going to win this one on the defensive side of the puck. They need to do a much better job of keeping the puck out of the back of the net because giving up six goals is inexcusable, but they’re not going to win because of their defense.
They’re going to score the park at a high level, and that’s going to result in them winning this game. If they don’t continue putting the puck in the back of the net at a high level, there’s a good chance that the Lightning are going to even up the series.

Unlike the Colorado Avalanche, the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to win this one on the defensive side of the puck.
They’re going to have to do enough to keep up in terms of scoring with the Avalanche, but if they give up more than four or five goals in any of these games, there’s a slim chance that they’re going to win.
Andrei Vasilevskiy did a great job in Game 3, and he needs to repeat the performance of what he did in Game 3. His performance in Game 2 was inexcusable and something that the hockey world is not used to seeing from him.
This is going to be an interesting one in Game 4 because Tampa Bay is coming off an incredible win, but that shouldn’t be too much of a concern.
With what this team has been able to do throughout the past few years, it would be likely if they find a way to continue playing that elite hockey that they’ve played. They went down 2-0 against the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals and then ended up winning four games in a row.
They also had a series against the Toronto Maple Leafs where they were down 2-1 and ended up winning that series as well. This team has fight in them, and they’re never going to back down from a challenge.
