The defense stepped up in the win as well. They forced Matthew Stafford into throwing two interceptions while holding the Rams to just 302 total yards in the game. It should be noted that the Rams have a top-tier offense, so this effort was especially impressive.
But they will be tested even more so on Sunday against a Dallas offense that ranks first in points per game and first in total yards per game.
The Cowboys attack in a balanced manner, ranking within the top ten in both passing and rushing yards per game.
Although the Eagles were resting some of their key players last week, Dallas still posted a remarkable performance.
Dak Prescott was a model of efficiency with his 21-27 passing effort to go along with five touchdowns. Ezekiel Elliot added 87 yards on the ground. This star-studded duo has the ceiling to lead Dallas to victory in any given game.
The Cowboys ended the regular season by winning four out of five games, including two 50-plus point performances during that span.
If San Francisco has any chance of winning, it will come down to defense. Both teams are in the top half of the league in terms of limiting points per game. San Francisco also finished third in yards surrendered per contest.
The path to an upset is through a tremendous defensive effort with the offense chipping away and consistently finding ways to score points while taking care of the football.
