Los Angeles Dodgers (+275)

While the Dodgers don’t even have the best record in their own division, they still have the best betting odds to win it all this year. Currently four games behind the San Francisco Giants in the N.L. West, the Dodgers are tied with the Brewers for the second-best record in the National League.

As the defending champions, the Dodgers boosted their roster significantly at the trade deadline. Not only did they add ace Max Scherzer (9-4, 2.75 ERA) to go along with Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, and Julio Urias in their rotation, but they also added All-Star Trea Turner (.321 batting average, 18 home runs) to their offense.

Amazingly, their offense and defense was already elite. They currently rank third in the majors in scoring (5.18 runs per game) and second in scoring defense (3.70 runs allowed per game).

With such a stellar team, one that is currently seeing Cody Bellinger hitting eighth, it is no wonder they have the best odds to win the World Series.

Houston Astros (+500)

According to BetUS, the best MLB odds to win the World Series in the American League resides with the Houston Astros. Surrounded in controversy stemming from their cheating scandal, the Astros have made it to the World Series in two of the last four seasons and are sitting pretty this year too.

The Astros’ offense has been otherworldly thus far. They currently sit first in runs per game (5.41), first in on-base percentage (.338), second in batting average (.265), second in slugging percentage (.440), and second in run differential (+147).

Their offense currently consists of six players with double-digit home runs and three with over 20: Kyle Tucker (21), Yordan Alvarez (22), and Jose Altuve (25). Crazily, as good as their offense has been, they currently have two elite hitters on the injured list in Alex Bregman and Yuli Gurriel.

At the trade deadline, they shored up one of their biggest weaknesses by adding relievers Kendall Graveman, Yimi Garcia, Rafael Montero, and Phil Maton to go along with Ryan Pressly and Ryne Stanek.

Chicago White Sox (+650)

Of all the possible betting picks, it is the White Sox that might have the most secure road to the postseason. They currently lead the A.L. Central by ten games over the Cleveland Indians, the largest lead of any division.

While the White Sox made some big additions at the deadline (most notably Craig Kimbrel), it might be the return of two injured players that are their biggest additions. Eloy Jimenez has already returned from a torn pectoral muscle, and Luis Robert is expected back soon from a hip injury.

These additions will boost an already dangerous offense, one that ranks fifth in run differential (+111) and sixth in scoring (4.92 runs per game). This is also to go along with a pitching staff that has the ERA leader in Lance Lynn (2.12) and has three of the top 25 pitchers in terms of strikeouts.

San Francisco Giants (+800)

Possibly the biggest surprise of Major League Baseball this season has been the San Francisco Giants. At 70-41, they currently have the best record in all of baseball and have been hot both at home (35-17) and on the road (35-24).

Again, despite leading the Dodgers by four games, they have worse betting odds to win the World Series. Still, with a rotation led by Kevin Gausman and an offense that averages the second-most home runs per game (1.50), they are a scary matchup for any team.

They also made a big addition at the trade deadline by adding Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs. On the season, he is hitting .270/.358/.506 with 19 home runs, 53 runs batted in, and 61 runs scored.

Milwaukee Brewers (+1000)

While the White Sox have the biggest divisional lead in baseball, the Brewers have the biggest divisional lead in the National League. They currently lead the N.L. Central by six games over the Cincinnati Reds and have been hot as of late (7-3 in their last ten).

While the Brewers’ offense has been average, their defense has been elite. They currently rank first in the majors in scoring defense, allowing opponents just 3.67 runs per game.

This is largely thanks to a dominant pitching rotation that includes three of the top six ERA’s in all of baseball in Freddy Peralta (2.21), Brandon Woodruff (2.26), and Corbin Burnes (2.39).

With that trio leading the pitching staff and a bullpen that includes the likes of Josh Hader and Devin Williams, they are a team that no one wants to face in a short series in the playoffs. For that reason alone, it is no wonder they have the fifth-best World Series odds.
