The Steelers snuck into the postseason last year and enjoyed a fairly good season overall. But they will aim for more consistent success in 2022.

TOP #3 Sports Betting Sites to Bet on NFL
The Cincinnati Bengals are the unsurprising home favorites in this one. The Bengals expect to make another deep postseason run with a very similar team and an improved offensive line. They want to make sure they get off to a strong start at home in 2022.
However, the Steelers are not a team to be taken lightly. Their defense is capable of making plays, and the running attack will force the Bengals hand.
In summary, this is going to be a competitive game. Although they are 6.5-point favorites, nothing is going to come easy for the Bengals.
Betting Trends
- The Pittsburgh Steelers were 8-10 against the spread last season.
- The Cincinnati Bengals were 14-7 against the spread last year.
- The Steelers were 4-5 against the spread when playing on the road.
- The Bengals were 5-5 against the spread when playing at their home field.
- Pittsburgh was 7-5 against the spread as an underdog last year.
- Cincinnati was 5-4 against the spread as a favorite last year.
- The Bengals were 3-3 against the spread when playing as a home favorite.
- The Steelers were 4-5 against the spread when playing as a road underdog.
The Bengals were the second-best team against the spread a season ago. Meanwhile, the Steelers were right around the middle of the pack.
However, Cincinnati was far more mediocre at home and when playing as a favorite. The Steelers were middle of the road across the board.
The Bengals have the advantage in terms of the spread dating back to last season. But this is a new year, and anything can happen.
Betting on Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers just did sneak into the playoffs last year. It took a final week victory and a shocking Colts loss against the Jaguars for them to make an appearance.
But they were happy to simply make the postseason appearance in Ben Roethlisberger’s last season. Big Ben’s retirement led to a semi-messy situation at QB in Pittsburgh.
The Steelers entered training camp with three quarterbacks who had a shot at taking over QB1 duties in Pittsburgh. Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, and Mitch Trubisky all had a chance at the gig.
Rudolph fell off as the preseason progressed. Pickett played well in the last couple of games of the preseason, which caused some people to believe he may have earned the job. But it was Trubisky who ultimately emerged.
Trubisky was recently named as the Steelers’ quarterback, and he will aim to play well in Week 1.
Najee Harris is ready to roll in the backfield as well. Harris will be a key contributor once again and may even be in store for a breakout campaign.
The Steelers’ defense will be interesting to keep an eye on. Some projections have them ranked near the top of the league. But they need to prove their talent early in the year.
Betting on Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are hungry for a strong season after coming up short in the Super Bowl a year ago. Joe Burrow is back following his breakout 2022 campaign.
Burrow enjoyed a tremendous year and led Cincinnati through the playoffs. He’s a star in every sense of the word and could take his game to the next level in 2022. If injuries don’t plague him, Burrow may find himself in the MVP conversation.
Ja’Marr Chase is quickly emerging as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. Chase and Burrow have a special connection, given their time at LSU together. But Chase is talented enough to excel with any QB in the league.
The Bengals needed to upgrade on the offensive line, and that is exactly what they did. Burrow was sacked most time in football last year and still posted a strong performance. If Cincinnati has even an average O-Line, they will reap the benefits in a major way.
The Bengal’s strong defense is back. Their defensive effort got overlooked at times, but this is a unit capable of limiting opponents. They will need to find a way to contain Najee Harris in the game. As long as they do that, the Bengals will be fine on Sunday.
Cincinnati’s path to return to the Super Bowl begins against Pittsburgh at home.
