Los Chargers at Rams Betting Preview
The Rams and Chargers will do battle on Saturday to start their respective preseasons. Of course, very little travel will be involved with the game being played at SoFi Stadium, which houses both teams. Both of these teams will have a lot riding on this season. The Chargers will be the second year of Justin Herbert, so wins will be expected. They have a new coach in Brandon Staley, somebody highly respected around the league. So many talented guys are playing for the Bolts. They are just naturally expected to show improvements.
And the Rams now have Matthew Stafford under center, playing for the genius that is Sean McVay. He is obviously better than Jared Goff, which is why a deal was made in the first place, so the pressure is higher. They have an opportunity now to win it all with this guy running the offense. And things are certainly looking up.

Chargers Seeking Preseason Win
Even though they will rest a number of key guys all preseason out of an abundance of caution, the Chargers still have plenty to showcase. Chase Daniel and Easton Stick will be competing for QB reps. And, of course, KJ Costello will get a few as well.
First-round pick Rashawn Slater will get the opportunity to protect QB’s in the pros for the first time. The right tackle is expected to be a week one starter, so the reps he’ll get trying to keep his backups upright will be a good chance to practice with a little less pressure.
They also have the great Asante Samuel’s son, Junior, who they selected in the second round of the draft. He’ll have plenty of playing time in this preseason opener, so watching him will be terrific. The big thing for them this year will be a healthy defense, so Joey Bosa will probably see minimal reps.
Look for the team’s defense and backup running backs to be the keys to watch for high impact.
Rams Look for “Home” Win
The Chargers and Rams both play home games at SoFI Stadium. So, there is no distinct advantage to be had for the Rams tonight. But they will be looking to start the preseason on a high note all the same.
The first chance for fans to see Stafford in a Rams uniform will be fun. He has so much potential and can elevate the team to a higher level. Behind him, John Wolford will be competing to hold on to the backup role, though it would take an awful lot to usurp him after his playoff efforts a season ago.
They drafted WR Tutu Atwell in round two, who joins a talented core of guys. He’ll get some good reps in Saturday’s showdown and is going to be a key name to watch. The Rams offense is pretty fluid, though it was led a season ago by the trio of running backs.
Look for Darrell Henderson to get a lot of early reps on Saturday and then ride the bench in the second half.
Bolts Fall Short
The underdog Rams will get the win in the preseason opener.
