Odds, Picks and Predictions

The Chicago Bears (2-2) travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings (3-1) on Sunday.

Chicago has endured a very up-and-down season so far. They most recently were defeated by the Giants in New York by a final score 20-12. The Bears will look to upset the odds and rebound on Sunday in Minnesota.

The Vikings have played well through their first three games of the 2022 campaign. However, they have cut it close over their past two wins. Minnesota narrowly edged out the Detroit Lions 28-24 two weeks ago before defeating the Saints by three points last week.

Minnesota is the projected winner on Sunday in this matchup. But they are aiming to earn a victory in more convincing fashion.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST on Sunday, October 9th, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota. It looks like we are in for an interesting bout!

Betting on Chicago Bears

The Bears have endured a mediocre season so far. Chicago defeated the 49ers to open the year before losing to Green Bay in Week 2. They followed that up with a Week 3 win over Houston before dropping their Week 4 contest with the Giants.

The Bears’ offense never got going in their loss last week. Justin Fields went just 11-22 through the air with 174 passing yards and a 76.7 QB rating.

It was a difficult game all-around from an offensive perspective. Chicago’s rushing attack showed occasional signs of life, but it was ultimately contained.

The Bears are going to need to put more points on the board in Week 5 if they have any shot of beating the Vikings.

The Bears rank just 31st in points per game, 30th in total yards per game, 32 in passing yards per game, and third in rushing yards per contest. Other than their strong rushing output, this is a Bears offense trying to find a sense of rhythm.

And even the running game doesn’t lead to much in the way of scoring.

Defensively, they are 11th in points against per game, 21st in total yards surrendered per game, 22nd in sacks, and ninth in interceptions. The defense has led Chicago, but it is far from an elite unit.

The Bears will do everything they can to pull off the upset in this one.

Betting on Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota will look to win their third consecutive game on Sunday. The Vikings have played well as of late en route to their 3-1 season record.

Kirk Cousins went 25-38 through the air with 273 passing yards and a touchdown. It wasn’t his best effort, but he played well enough to lead Minnesota.

Dalvin Cook was unable to find the end zone but recorded 76 rushing yards on 20 attempts.

Justin Jefferson had another fantastic game. He recorded ten receptions and 147 receiving yards. Adam Thielen added eighth catches and 72 yards.

The Vikings‘ defense allowed the Saints to remain in the game. But Minnesota earned the 28-25 win.

On the season, the Vikings are 15th in points per game, 18th in total yards per game, 12th in passing yards per game, and 22nd in rushing yards per game.

Minnesota is 12th in points against per game, 27th in total yards allowed per game, 14th in sacks, and 16th in interceptions.

The Vikings are expected to win this game. They are in the driver’s seat at home but can’t take the Bears for granted. This may wind up being a competitive affair, but Minnesota is confident in their chances.

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Picks and Predictions

Which of these teams should you place your money on? Can the Bears upset the odds, or will the Vikings take care of business?

Minnesota is 3-1 and feeling confident. But their 1-3 ATS record isn’t inspiring by any means.

If one were to bet on the Bears, they are banking on the offense coming through. The fact of the matter is that Chicago’s odds of limiting the Vikings’ scoring attack are extremely slim. Other than their Week 2 dud against the Eagles, Minnesota has scored at least 23 points in each of their games.

Meanwhile, Chicago has only scored 20 or more points one time in their four games.

If you can’t confidently say that the Bears will score more than 20 points, don’t bet on them. Minnesota is going to likely score 23 points or more en route to a win.

And that mark should be enough to cover the spread as well. The Vikings are the pick to click at home against the Bears.

 The Picks:

  • Go ahead and take the Minnesota Vikings as your moneyline (straight-up) betting selection for this game.
  • Take the over on the implied point total in this one.
  • Roll with the Minnesota Vikings -7.5 with your Sunday afternoon NFL spread betting selection.
