The Bengals are fresh off of a season that saw them make it all the way to the Super Bowl before ultimately losing to the Los Angeles Rams. Nonetheless, this is a team with plenty of talent, and they are ready to make another run this year. However, the uncertain health of Joe Burrow is a concern.
The Cardinals enjoyed a strong 2021 campaign as well. However, things fizzled out in the playoffs, and Arizona fell short against the Rams as well. But in a similar sentiment to Cincinnati, this is a good team prepared to run it back this season.

The Bengals enter this Friday night matchup as favorites. But as aforementioned, this should be a competitive game. The 2-point spread is extremely reasonable since neither stands out as a heavy favorite.
The over/under of 31 is interesting. Both of these offenses are potent, but it is unclear which starters will suit up and which will not. If Kyler Murray and Joe Burrow were both supposed to start, I would lean towards the over.

The young Cardinals players will be the ones to keep an eye on in this Friday night matchup. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury has stated that he enjoys preseason games because of the evaluation process. So the young guys will have an excellent opportunity to impress Kingsbury and the rest of the coaching staff this month.
But bettors need to be weary because both Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy aren’t expected to play for Arizona. That means Trace McSorley and Jarrett Guarantano will receive playing time. Both QBs are fighting for the third QB spot on the Cardinals roster.
The pros to this is that both players will be more motivated than ever. But neither have much experience, which could limit the team’s overall offensive execution.

One area of the Bengals roster to keep an eye on this preseason will be their offensive line. Joe Burrow led the league in sacks last year, and the main reason for that was Cincinnati’s lackluster offensive line.
Jackson Carman is expected to get the start at left guard in Friday’s game. He’s one of the few potential starters who is playing on Friday. But his starting spot is not set in stone yet.
So Carman will need to prove himself during the preseason. But if he shows any signs of reliability, Carman will likely earn a starting spot as the Bengals look to provide necessary protection for Joe Burrow.
Having all eyes on an offensive line isn’t the most eye-popping asset of watching a football game. But the O-line is going to be the key for Cincinnati this year since they already feature enough talent in other areas of the roster.
Injury Report
For the Bengals, OT D’Ante Smith and DE Khalid Kareem both are expected to not play in this game due to injuries.
However, the four players who have been held out for various reasons are QB Joe Burrow, S Jessie Bates, LB Joe Bachie, and S Brandon Wilson.
The most concerning names on that list are Joe Burrow and Jessie Bates. Bates is in a contract dispute while Burrow is recovering from an appendectomy.
Cincinnati needs both of those players on the field during the regular season. But for now, they are fine with Burrow recovering while they try to work out a deal with Bates.
Meanwhile, DT Kingsley Keke is dealing with an illness for the Cardinals.
QB Kyler Murray has a wrist injury and is questionable. He is likely not to play; the Cardinals could end up utilizing him. As of now, he’s probably a game-time decision at best.
