The Best Bets for Saturday, February 5th
A couple of Eastern Conference contenders prepare to face off as the Miami Heat (33-20) travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets (28-25) on Saturday night.
Miami sits just a half-game behind first-place Chicago in the Eastern Conference standings following their recent 112-95 victory over the Spurs. The win against San Antonio snapped a three-game skid.

The Heat enter play as the narrow road favorites on Saturday night. But Charlotte is desperate to snap their current losing streak and should have plenty of motivation against their Eastern Conference rivals in this game.
The Heat are better overall, but we should be in store for a gritty performance from both sides.
How To Bet On: Miami Heat at Charlotte Hornets Betting lines
The Heat have labored as of late. Their only win in their past four games came against a lowly Spurs squad. This should provide the Hornets with confidence as they try and upset the odds at home.
They have been solid at home with a 14-9 record, while Miami is 15-14 on the road. Their above .500 road record is respectable, but the Hornets have a clear advantage in that regard.
We should be in store for an up-tempo, fast-paced game with a lot of flashy scoring in this game. Expect all-star snubs Tyler Herro and LaMelo Ball to play well and lead their teams from an offensive standpoint.
This matchup may very well come down to the wire and not be decided until late in the fourth quarter. But the Heat should be able to cover the 3.5 point spread in the end.

- Memphis Grizzlies -7.5
- Orlando Magic +7.5
Pick: Memphis Grizzlies -7.5
Betting on this game allows you to make a truly confident selection. Other bettors may be wary of this large spread since the Grizzlies are playing on the road. However, they should have no problem covering the spread against the underwhelming Magic.
- New York Knicks +2
- Los Angeles Lakers -2
Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -2
This game could go either way. Both the Knicks and Lakers were supposed to be near the top of their respective conferences, and both have failed in that regard. But we will go ahead and roll with LA at home in this one.
- Phoenix Suns -9
- Washington Wizards +9
Pick: Phoenix Suns -9
This is another surprisingly favorable betting opportunity, given the large spread for the road team. While others may not trust the Suns to cover a 9-point spread on the road, I certainly would. They have been one of the best teams in the league this year, and that should not change on Saturday in Washington.
