According to Betonline, the Braves are the clear favorites in this ball game. However, this is a talented Cardinals ball club more than capable of pulling off the upset.

This could end up being an extremely exciting game. Both the Cardinals and Braves have realistic chances of emerging victorious in this one.

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

St. Louis Cardinals Preview

The Cardinals enter this game on a bit of a slide. They are just 4-6 over their past ten games, and they are in the midst of a three-game losing streak. St. Louis will try to steal a win in Game Three of this four-game set.

The Cardinals’ pitching labored through the first two games of the series. They have already surrendered a total of 13 runs during that span. Granted, the Braves lineup has been hot as of late.

But 13 runs in two games is never a winning formula.

However, the Cardinals’ offense has gone cold over their past five games. With the exception of a 7-6 victory over the Phillies, St. Louis hasn’t scored more than three runs during that span.

But St. Louis is still a talented team overall. They are going to fare well moving forward. It appears as if they are simply in a slump.

But they will need to turn it around as soon as possible if they want to avoid dropping this series with Atlanta.

Miles Mikolas (5-6, 2.61) will aim to stop the slide on Wednesday. The right-hander is enjoying a resurgent 2022 campaign and will receive All-Star consideration. His performance has been crucial for St. Louis, with Jack Flaherty injured.

Atlanta Braves Preview

The Braves are trending in a very different direction than St. Louis. Atlanta has won four of their past five games and can clinch a series win on Wednesday.

Atlanta has produced at least four runs in each of their past five games as well. They have only surrendered four runs in one of those games.

To summarize, the Braves are scoring a lot and not allowing many runs. That is a recipe for success.

Atlanta’s offense is climbing the leaderboard rankings as well. They now place 10th in batting average and first in OBP. Additionally, they are second in home runs and fourth in runs scored.

The Braves have done a great job of remaining confident despite their early-season struggles. The way they have turned things around has been truly impressive.

Their pitching has been much better as of late. LHP Max Fried (8-2, 2.66) gets the call on Wednesday. Fried has a legitimate case for starting the All-Star game. He has been terrific without question.

Yes, wins and losses tend to go by the wayside nowadays for pitchers. But Fried’s 8-2 record is indicative of how vital he is to Atlanta’s success. The Braves would not be where they are if it wasn’t for Fried.

Injury Report

Outfielder Adam Duvall is probable for Wednesday’s game. He is dealing with a hand ailment but is likely to play in this contest.

Mike Soroka is still on the injured list. The right-hander could return in early-mid August. For now, he is recovering from an Achilles injury.

Ozzie Albies will be out until September with his foot injury.

Kenley Jansen is expected to return in mid-July. The Braves closer is dealing with a lingering chest ailment.

Part of the Cardinals’ struggles has been due to injuries.

Outfielders Harrison Bader and Tyler O’Neal have been out with injuries for the past couple of weeks. However, both could return in mid-July.

TJ McFarland, Steven Matz, and Genesis Cabrera are all on track to return within the next week or two.

Jack Flaherty is the exception. He is expected to be out until August 1st at the earliest.

Other than Flaherty, the Cardinals are slowly getting back to full health. They should start playing better soon.

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves Preview and Predictions

We can expect a competitive ball game between these two National League ball clubs. It tends to get competitive whenever the Braves and Cardinals play.

No, they are not rivals and don’t even play in the same division. But this is a potential playoff matchup.

So who wins this game? Which team should you place your money on?

The Braves are trending in the right direction and have ace Max Fried going on Wednesday. All signs are pointing in their direction.

Sure, the Cardinals feature plenty of upset potential. Miles Mikolas has pitched well this season, and the Cardinals have an offense capable of putting some runs on the board.

But the best bet is to take the Braves on Wednesday. I could see Fried pitching a dominant game in this one.

Expect a low-scoring pitcher’s duel. Bet on the under in reference to the total. But I simply can’t advise against betting on the red-hot Atlanta Braves right now.

They are clearly the team to beat.

The Pick: Go ahead and roll with the Atlanta Braves -1.5 in this Wednesday affair.
