Odds, Picks and Predictions
The Los Angeles Dodgers (76-33) prepare to host the Minnesota Twins (57-51) on Wednesday in LA. Wednesday’s game represents the final affair of this two-game interleague series.
The Dodgers are the hottest team in baseball right now. They are in the midst of a nine-game winning streak entering Wednesday. This is a ball club finally putting all of the pieces together.
They have been solid all season, but they always had the potential to play like they are right now. Everything seems to be clicking for the Dodgers at the moment.
The Twins had won three of their past games entering this series. However, they dropped Tuesday’s series opener against the Dodgers. With the loss on Tuesday, the Twins and Guardians are now tied for first place in the AL Central.
Minnesota will look to bounce back on Wednesday.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM PST on Wednesday, August 10th, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

Betting on Minnesota Twins
The Twins are in the middle of a playoff race at the moment. However, the Guardians tied them for first place in the AL Central, and the White Sox aren’t far behind. So the pressure is on right now for Minnesota.
The area where the Twins have excelled this season is on the offensive side of the ball. They are eighth in batting average, seventh in OBP, eighth in slugging percentage, 13th in runs scored, and eighth in home runs.
Their lineup isn’t the best in baseball. But it is deep and features a good combination of speed, power, and contact guys. They are a difficult team to pitch against. Executing a strategy against a lineup that does a little bit of everything isn’t easy.
Meanwhile, the pitching has been mediocre at best. They are 19th in ERA, 12th in WHIP, 26th in home runs, and 13th in batting average against.
The Twins have a few solid pitchers. Guys like Joe Rya, Sonny Gray, and recently acquired Tyler Mahle are reliable. But overall, this pitching staff has a lot left to be desired.
Gray (6-3, 3.19) will start for the Twins on Wednesday. The right-hander was acquired over the offseason from the Reds and has been a vital piece to the puzzle for Minnesota. Without him, there is no telling where this Twins rotation would be.
The Twins will aim to right the ship and get back in the win column on Wednesday. However, it won’t be easy against the best team in baseball.
Betting on Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers just keep winning games, and that is all there is to it. They are pulling away in the NL West and were clearly unfazed by the Padres’ acquisitions of Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Josh Hader.
Meanwhile, LA hasn’t lost since acquiring Joey Gallo! Perhaps the struggling outfielder was the X-Factor they needed. In all seriousness, this is a really good team, and they will cause problems for Minnesota on Wednesday.
The Dodgers are balanced across the board from a statistical perspective.
LA is third in batting average, first in OBP, second in slugging percentage, second in runs scored, and seventh in home runs. Meanwhile, they are first in team ERA, first in WHIP, second in home runs allowed and second in batting average against.
Rookie Ryan Pepiot (1-0, 2.76) will get the start for the Dodgers on Wednesday. He is just another prospect with an extremely high ceiling for Los Angeles. They seem to consistently pump out young talent.
Pepiot will aim to lead LA to a 10th consecutive win in this ball game. And he should be in line to receive plenty of run support. The Dodgers have scored at least four runs in their last five games.
So even Pepiot labors, the lineup will likely have his back.
Freddie Freeman will be a key hitter for the Dodgers on Wednesday. He bats from the left-side of the plate and is facing a righty in Sonny Gray. He’s been locked in as of late and should end up producing a couple of hits for LA in this one.
Minnesota Twins at Los Angeles Dodgers Picks and Predictions
So which team should you roll with? Can the Dodgers keep their winning ways alive, or will the Twins upset the odds in LA?
From a pitching perspective, I’d give a slight advantage to Minnesota in this game. Sonny Gray has been impressive this season, while Ryan Pepoit lacks much in the way of experience. However, Pepoit possesses plenty of talent and might be able to contain the Twins lineup.
However, betting against the hottest team in MLB at home is a very risky proposition. And with the way LA has been swinging the bats lately, Sonny Gray will be in for a long outing.
I expect a more competitive game than Tuesday’s contest. But in the end, go ahead and roll with the Dodgers to take care of business in front of the home faithful.
- Go ahead and take the Los Angeles Dodgers as your moneyline betting selection in this Wednesday night ball game.
- Take the over on the over/under run total.
- Roll with the Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 to cover the run line.
