Odds, Picks and Predictions
The Los Angeles Dodgers (80-34) and Milwaukee Brewers (61-53) will go head-to-head in a Tuesday night matchup.
The Dodgers became MLB’s first team to 80 wins following Monday night’s victory over the Brewers. LA continues to dominate baseball and are on their way to another deep postseason run. The Dodgers will aim to keep rolling on Tuesday against Milwaukee.
The Brewers have labored as of late. They are now in second place in the NL Central and are dealing with a difficult matchup against the Dodgers.
Tuesday represents Game Two of a four-game series. The Dodgers can clinch a series split at the very least with a win on Tuesday. However, the Brewers want nothing more than to earn a revenge victory in this game.
The first pitch is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST on Tuesday, August 15th, at American Family Field in Milwaukee, WI.

The Brewers are listed as favorites despite the Dodgers’ scorching level of play as of late. But can Milwaukee cover despite their struggles against the run line?
Betting Trends
- The Los Angeles Dodgers are 71-42 against the run line so far this season.
- The Milwaukee Brewers are a league-worst 46-67 against the run line so far this year.
- The Dodgers are 36-22 against the run line when playing on the road.
- The Brewers are 20-31 against the run line when playing at their home ballpark.
- Los Angeles is 1-1 against the run line as an underdog this year.
- Milwaukee is 32-57 against the run line as a favorite this year.
Betting on Los Angeles Dodgers
The game is going to be exciting and competitive. However, it’s almost notable just because of the fact that the Dodgers are the underdogs. They have rarely played the role of underdog in 2022.
The reason for their underdog status is not because they are playing on the road. It all boils down to the pitching matchup. For LA, Ryan Pepiot (1-0, 3.92) is scheduled to take on Brandon Woodruff of the Brewers.
There isn’t anything wrong with Pepiot. But Woodruff is a steady veteran while Pepiot is young and inexperienced in the big leagues.
But betting against this Dodgers ball club is always risky.
LA is 9-1 over the course of their last ten games. They are the best team in baseball and are playing some of the best baseball they have all season long right now.
What makes them so difficult is their all-around balance. If the offense labors one day, the pitching will pick up the slack. And if the pitching surrenders a bunch of runs, then the offense will claw their way back into the game.
There really aren’t any weak spots on this team. However, it should be noted that ace pitcher Walker Buehler is set to undergo surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season. Buehler’s absence will begin to truly show its effects during the postseason.
Nonetheless, the Dodgers’ overall depth will help them continue to dominate the league.
Betting on Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have not been the same team since trading closer Josh Hader. They led the NL Central for most of the season up until the trade. But they are now two games behind first-place St. Louis in the division.
The Brewers still feature a talented team. Their pitching is good, and the offense has held up its end of the bargain.
But the Brewers need to go on some kind of run. They are playing in a stagnant manner right now and just 4-6 over their past contests.
Milwaukee needs some sort of walk-off victory to electrify the team. The passion seems to be lacking at the moment.
With all of that being said, the Brewers are still a contender without question.
They will send Brandon Woodruff (9-3, 3.52) to the mound for Tuesday’s game. Woodruff hasn’t been quite as dominant this year as he had been in years past, but he’s still a force on the mound. Woodruff will be tasked with slowing down the Dodgers’ elite lineup.
Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers and Predictions
The Dodgers enter this game playing well. They may be the underdog, but they are going to be an extremely popular underdog.
But can Ryan Pepiot take care of business against the Brewers’ lineup? Pepiot has shown glimpses of stardom this season. The young hurler features decent command of the strike zone and impressive movement on his pitches.
So I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go toe-to-toe with the veteran Woodruff on Tuesday.
And one has to wonder how Woodruff will fare against the Dodgers loaded batting order. He likely won’t shut them down, but he should be able to post a quality performance for the Brewers. If Woodruff goes at least six or seven innings and limits LA, he will have done his job.
But limiting the Dodgers over six or seven innings is a task much easier said than done.
So who wins this game? Which team should you place your money on?
The Dodgers are simply too good of an underdog pick to pass up. A part of me wants to roll with the Brewers… but anytime a red hot and talented team like LA is the underdog, it’s worth taking the risk.
This should be a good game in a potential playoff preview. Expect a low-scoring affair that sees the Dodgers squeak out a narrow victory.
The Picks:
- Go ahead and take the Los Angeles Dodgers as your moneyline betting selection.
- Take the under on the implied run total in this one.
- Roll with the Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 to cover the run line.
