The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees prepare to face off on Sunday Night Baseball.
The Best Bets for Sunday, April 10th
Boston is off to a rough start to begin their season. They lost 6-5 against New York on Opening Day and then dropped a 4-2 ballgame on Saturday. However, they will try to salvage Game 3 with young RHP Tanner Houck on the hill.
As for the Yankees, they have taken care of business at home up to this point. New York is mashing the ball all over the yard and are certainly living up to the “Bronx Bombers” nickname. They will counter Boston with LHP Jordan Montgomery on Sunday.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:08 P.M. EST on Sunday, April 10th, at Yankee Stadium.

Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox have got out to early leads in both games. They have also blown those leads in both games.
On Saturday, Red Sox pitching limited this deep Yankees lineup to just four runs on four hits. But the middle of the order provided the thump, as Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton both homered and drove in two runs each.
Alex Verduo led the charge for Boston’s offense. The outfielder smashed a two-run home run in the second inning to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead at the time. However, that was all the Red Sox would produce in the 4-2 defeat.
Verduo finished 2-3 with the two RBI’s.
Nick Pivetta went 5.2 innings pitched and allowed four runs, three walks, and struck out four.
Boston needs Tanner Houck to step up on Sunday and give the Red Sox a quality outing. He will likely be on a pitch count, so the odds of him working deep into the game are slim. But if Houck can give the team five good innings, they will surely take it.
New York Yankees
As aforementioned Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton led New York to their Saturday victory to clinch the series.
But it was the Yankees pitching that truly stole the show. Luis Severino started the game and lasted just three innings while surrendering two runs and striking out five.
However, New York enjoyed the perks of the 28-man roster as their bullpen was rested and ready to roll. Six different pitchers combined to no-hit the Red Sox from the fourth inning on. The game ended with an Aroldis Chapman save to cap off an overall great bullpen performance.
The Yankees bullpen tends to get overlooked because of all the additions that the Braves, Dodgers, and White Sox made to their relief staffs. However, New York features one of the top ‘pens in baseball.
But even with the expanded rosters, the fact is that the Yankees relievers were tasked with throwing a lot of pitches on Saturday. So Aaron Boone and the coaching staff will likely leave Jordan Montgomery in Sunday’s affair as long as they can in an effort to save the bullpen.
Best Betting Odds to Bet Online
The Yankees enter as the home favorites after taking the first two games at Yankee Stadium. But the Red Sox have kept both contests close, and their offense could be ready to breakout on Sunday.
New York will be in trouble unless Montgomery lasts deep into the game, given the big workload the Yankees bullpen faced on Sunday. Expect the Red Sox hitters to implement a patient approach at the plate in an effort to make Aaron Boone remove Montgomery early from the game.
How To Bet On: Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees MLB Betting lines
Can the Yankees grab their brooms and sweep the Red Sox out of New York?
It is going to be another exciting game on Sunday. These teams are evenly matched overall, as is the pitching matchup for this contest. However, Houck has more upside and should be capable of giving Boston 4-5 solid innings of work.
Expect the Red Sox to finally earn their first win of the season on Sunday.

- Cleveland Guardians +1.5
- Kansas City Royals -1.5
Pick: Cleveland Guardians +1.5
Cal Quantrill gets the start on Sunday for Cleveland following a tremendous 2021 season. The right-hander should be able to propel the Guardians to their first victory of the year. Also, expect Jose Ramirez to club his first home run of the campaign in this one.
- Chicago White Sox -1.5
- Detroit Tigers +1.5
Pick: Detroit Tigers +1.5
This contest features my favorite pitching matchup on the slate. A couple of young phenoms in Tarik Skubal and Michael Kopech, get the starts for their respective teams in this affair. Both have plenty of upside and strikeout potential, but I am rolling with Skubal and Detroit to emerge victoriously and win the series 2-1.
- Seattle Mariners +1.5
- Minnesota Twins -1.5
Pick: Minnesota Twins
Carlos Correa and Twins enter as the home favorites despite being down in the series 2-0. Seattle has undoubtedly impressed up to this point, but Minnesota should be able to escape with their first victory of the season on Sunday.
