Betting Odds to win 2022 Stanley Cup – Best Sports Betting Sites Online
With the Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft, NHL Entry Draft, and the start of free agency in the rearview mirror, it’s time to take a look at how the massive player movement has affected the 2022 Stanley Cup odds. Though it’s still early in the offseason, placing a futures bet now could offer great betting odds and a chance to win big.
By division, here are the odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup.
TOP #3 Sports Betting Sites to Bet on NHL
Atlantic Division
- Tampa Bay Lightning +400
- Toronto Maple Leafs +1100
- Boston Bruins +1400
- Florida Panthers +2500
- Montreal Canadiens +2500
- Ottawa Senators +7500
- Detroit Red Wings +20000
- Buffalo Sabres +25000
The Atlantic Division is as widespread as possible for Stanley Cup odds. The two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning are tied with the Colorado Avalanche as Cup Favorites while the Sabres and Red Wings have the longest and second-longest odds, respectively.
Florida is an interesting play in this division. The Panthers traded for Sam Reinhart, who led Buffalo in goals (25) and points (40) last season, and also signed free agent defenseman Brandon Montour. Though they lost goaltender Chris Driedger to the expansion draft, rookie Spencer Knight looks ready for a good chunk of the workload behind Sergei Bobrovsky.
Metropolitan Division
- Carolina Hurricanes +1100
- New York Islanders +2200
- New York Rangers +2200
- Pittsburgh Penguins +2500
- Washington Capitals +2500
- Philadelphia Flyers +3000
- New Jersey Devils +8000
- Columbus Blue Jackets +10000
The Hurricanes are somewhat of a surprise pick in the betting odds here, as in each of the past two seasons, the Islanders were the Eastern Conference runner-up. The Isles did trade defenseman Nick Leddy to the Red Wings to free up cap room, but with a nearly identical roster to last season and several talented prospects set to see more ice time (including Kiefer Bellows, Olli Juolevi, Noah Dobson), the Islanders are poised for another deep run.
Furthermore, the Islanders and Hurricanes really should be flipped in the sports betting odds, and the Isles should be the favorite to win the division. This is especially true after Carolina lost their entire goalie room (Alex Nedeljkovic to trade, Petr Mrazek, Jonathan Bernier, and James Reimer to free agency) and replaced them with the oft-injured Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta.
Central Division
- Colorado Avalanche +400
- Dallas Stars+2500
- Minnesota Wild +2500
- Winnipeg Jets +4000
- St. Louis Blues +5000
- Nashville Predators +5500
- Chicago Blackhawks +7500
- Arizona Coyotes +12500
Colorado is the favorite to win the Western Conference, and after inking captain Gabriel Landeskog and defenseman Cale Makar to long-term deals, they likely will be for the next few seasons.
Look out for Chicago to make things interesting. The Blackhawks acquired defenseman Seth Jones in a trade on draft day, landed 2021 Vezina Trophy winner Marc-André Fleury in a deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, and have a healthy Jonathan Toews back in the fold. While they don’t have the firepower to keep up with Colorado for the division title, they will be a tough team to beat when the playoffs roll around.
Pacific Division
- Vegas Golden Knights +550
- Edmonton Oilers +2200
- Seattle Kraken +4000
- Calgary Flames +5000
- Vancouver Canucks +6000
- Los Angeles Kings +6000
- San Jose Sharks +10000
- Anaheim Ducks +12500
The Pacific Division race shouldn’t be close, as the Golden Knights look ready to run away with the title. The California teams are all far closer to competing for the top overall pick than they are for a Stanley Cup.
We should note the Kings and Golden Knights are key players in the Jack Eichel sweepstakes. Los Angeles has the prospects, salary cap room, need for a star center, and a contention window that is just starting to open. Vegas has been more aggressive so far in working for a deal and Buffalo has reached out to the Golden Knights with an offer. If either team lands Eichel, expect a considerable jump in their odds.
