Zags Lead the Way
2021 defending National Runner-Up, Gonzaga Bulldogs heads up BetOnline’s 2022 odds at +700. They lost the 2021 National Championship to the Baylor Bears. The 2nd time they’ve been the runner-up in 5 seasons.
The only game the Zags lost last season was the title game against Baylor. Mark Few and his bunch dominated up to that point.
Few is heading into his 22nd season with Gonzaga and has never missed the NCAA Tournament. This season, top recruit Chet Holmgren will try and lead the Zags to the promised land. The 7-footer was the MVP of the FIBA U-19 tournament.
The Bulldogs at +700 could pay off. Those odds will likely shrink once the team starts rolling, and there isn’t much doubt that they will.
Penny for the Win
Just behind Gonzaga at +900 is the Memphis Tigers. Led by Penny Hardaway and his star-studded coaching staff, Memphis heads into the season with the top recruiting class in the nation.
Just this week, Memphis was able to land ESPN No. 3 recruit Emoni Bates. That’s the second 5-star recruit that Memphis has landed in a month. Jalen Duran is also set to be a Tiger in 2021.
Add this to the rest of their recruiting class and the return of their top 3 per minute starters, and be ready for some fireworks. The two recruits catapulted Memphis from outside the top 25 to a top 10 team heading into the season.
Go grab Memphis at +900 before it’s too late. Just a week ago, their odds were well over +1000 at the BetOnline sportsbook.
Just Like Old Times in LA
UCLA brought in a 5-star recruit of their own in Peyton Watson. They also grabbed Rutgers transfer Myles Johnson. That was enough to put UCLA in the top 5 of most people’s preseason rankings and enough to put them at +1400 odds at BetOnline.
+1400 is a solid payday for a top 5 team, which is why we check the odds early and often. Get them while they’re hot.
With the players UCLA is returning and the new recruits, we have no doubt that UCLA’s odds will diminish quickly once the season begins. Look for a deep run in 2022 for the Bruins.
The Best of the Rest
There are tons of great bets on BetOnline’s top 20. Some have odds that they won’t have for long. Kansas and Kentucky stand out at +1800 and +1400.
When betting futures this far in advance, we not only check the odds early and often, but we bet early and often as well. Don’t pick one team. Pick a handful with solid odds to hedge your bet.
