Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans NBA Betting Analysis, Picks

On Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns (28-8) travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans (13-24) at the Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 P.M. EST.

The Suns are coming off of a commanding 133-99 victory over the Hornets in Charlotte on Sunday. Phoenix is now 7-3 in their last ten games, and they place second in the Western Conference.

New Orleans dropped a competitive contest against the Jazz at home on Monday by a final score of 115-104. The Pelicans enter Tuesday’s action near the bottom of the West. However, they have won six out of their past ten games overall.

New Orleans will look to rebound in the second of a back-to-back against the Suns at home on Tuesday night.

Betting Analysis for Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans NBA

Phoenix Suns Betting Stats & Analysis

On Sunday, the Suns bounced back nicely from a loss against the Celtics with an impressive victory on the road in Charlotte. They utilized a balanced attack that saw seven different players reach double figures in points scored.

Many of those opportunities were created by Chris Paul, who posted an incredible 16 assists in the game. CP3 was clearly focused on setting up his teammates in this one as the point guard took just six shots from the field and finished with seven total points.

Devin Booker was the leading scorer for Phoenix with 24 points. He added seven rebounds as well in the win.

The Suns were also without DeAndre Ayton in the game, who was still in COVID-19 protocols. He has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game as well. However, he is expected to return at some point this week, which is certainly good news for Phoenix.

Two players who have made a huge difference this season for the Suns are Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges. While they both tend to get overlooked since most people focus on the Suns’ big three, they have been crucial to the team’s success so far during the 2021-2022 campaign.

Bridges is averaging 12 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while Johnson has posted 11.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest. They are a testament to the elite depth that the Suns possess.

Phoenix will look to keep firing on all cylinders on Tuesday in New Orleans.

New Orleans Pelicans Betting Stats & Analysis

The Pelicans keep trudging along without Zion Williamson. Many felt as if New Orleans was able to compete this season, with Zion and Brandon Ingram leading the way. Instead, they find themselves with the second-worst record in the West entering 2022 and with no timetable for Williamson’s return.

And yet, despite all of that, they still gave the talented Utah Jazz a run for their money on Monday evening.

The Pelicans were led by center Jonas Valanciunas who scored 25 points on 9-18 shooting from the field to go along with three 3-pointers. The big man also grabbed nine rebounds.

Brandon Ingram struggled in his return from an Achilles injury by shooting just 3-18 from the field. Nonetheless, his return was a welcomed sight in New Orleans.

The Pelicans did a tremendous job of taking care of the ball on Monday with just ten total turnovers. They rank 21st in the turnover department this season, so perhaps this could lead to improvement moving forward.

Even with the solid team effort, the Pelicans fell short to the Utah Jazz by 11 points.

They will look to produce another respectable effort against the Suns on Tuesday.

How To Bet On: Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans NBA – Betting lines

As expected, the Suns are the favorites in this game. They have been one of the best teams in the NBA and feature an impressive mixture of star power and depth.

Chris Paul’s ability to make everyone else better is one of the most underappreciated aspects about this Suns team. Even in a game where Paul scores just 7 points, his impact is felt throughout. Whether he is picking up assists or simply orchestrating the team, the leadership of CP3 is unparalleled.

Expect Paul and the Suns to take care of business in New Orleans on Tuesday.

One thing I will be looking for from the Pelicans is the impact of Brandon Ingram. While New Orleans may opt to give him rest as he recovers from his previous injury, it will be interesting to see how he performs if he is in the starting lineup.

Regardless, the Suns are the pick to click in this game.
