San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Betting Analysis, Picks
A couple of NL West rivals in the San Francisco Giants (14-9) and Los Angeles Dodgers (15-7), prepare for the finale of a short two-game series in L.A.
The Dodgers took the first game of the series on Tuesday by a final score of 3-1. It was a game that was defined by strong pitching, and neither offense was able to do much damage.
However, both of these lineups are more than capable of breaking out at any given moment. Wednesday’s matchup has the potential to turn into a slugfest if the pitchers aren’t careful.
The first pitch is scheduled for 10:10 P.M. EST on Wednesday, May 4th, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.
Let’s take a look at which team you should place your money on in Game 2 of this series.

Betting Analysis for San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers
San Francisco Giants Betting Stats & Analysis
The Giants have been playing a quality brand of baseball and turned to their new ace, Carlos Rodon, on Tuesday against the Dodgers. He pitched extremely well, considering his opponent. Rodon surrendered just two runs over six innings.
However, his typically high strikeout numbers were down, as the left-hander struck out just three batters. Nonetheless, he did a nice job of keeping the Giants in the game.
Reliever John Brebbia followed Rodon by promptly allowing another earned run in the seventh. Three runs was all the Dodgers would need since San Francisco mustered all of one run on the night.
That lone run came via a Luis Gonzalez RBI in a pinch-hit opportunity. The rest of the Giants’ offense was stifled by Julio Urias and the Dodgers.
San Francisco will aim to rebound on Wednesday with LHP Alex Wood (2-1, 4.19) on the mound. Wood is a tough pitcher to square up, but he has endured his share of struggles so far during the 2022 campaign. But he will look for better fortunes in L.A. on Wednesday.
Although it’s early in the season, the defending NL West champion Giants can make a statement with a win on Wednesday in L.A.
Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Stats & Analysis
The Dodgers lineup is stacked. Chris Taylor, who was an All-Star last season, was hitting eighth for L.A. on Tuesday. The versatile outfielder also provided most of the production for the Dodgers’ offense in the game. Taylor drove in two of L.A.’s three runs.
He finished 2-3 with the aforementioned two RBIs.
Julio Urias was electric on the mound. Despite striking out just four batters, Urias went six innings, walked none, surrendered just four hits, and allowed no runs.
His pitch count was rather low following his final out in the sixth as well. But in true Dave Roberts fashion, Urias was removed earlier than expected. The decision to remove Urias immediately backfired as Brusdar Graterol immediately allowed a run in the seventh and lasted just one-third of an inning.
But Alex Vesia entered in relief of Graterol and shut the door. The Dodgers bullpen shutdown the Giants in the eighth and ninth innings as well, and Urias was still credited with the win.
L.A. will look for a similar performance from RHP Tony Gonsolin (1-0, 1.59) on Wednesday. Gonsolin has been as good as it gets for a number four or five starter in a rotation. He would likely be a number two or three in most other rotations that don’t include Urias, Clayton Kershaw, and Walker Buehler.
L.A. can sweep this short series with a win on Wednesday.

How to Bet On: San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers MLB – Betting lines
The Giants upset the Dodgers last year by edging them out in the division. San Francisco has confidence, and they know how to defeat the Dodgers.
But Alex Wood hasn’t been great on the mound this year, and Tony Gonsolin has been sharp. The Dodgers are the favorites for a reason in this matchup.
I expect there to be more runs scored on Wednesday as both of these offenses are difficult to keep down for an extended period of time. But defeating the Dodgers when their offense is rolling is one of the hardest things to do in the MLB right now.
Take the Dodgers in this one.
