Houston Astros vs San Diego Padres Betting Pick (Sat)
The San Diego Padres are hosting the Houston Astros for a three-game series this weekend. The Astros struck first and won Friday night’s game 6-3 on the back on Carlos Correa’s 3 RBI night.
Houston is putting Famber Valdez on the mound to square off against Joe Musgrove and the Padres lineup on Saturday. Musgrove is coming off a 3 hit complete game against the Angels. This should be quite the pitchers’ duel.
BetUS has the Padres favored at home by1.5 runs. The run total is set at 7.5. Houston is +103 on the moneyline. For more odds and MLB bets to make, head over to Online Betting Sports for the latest odds and action.

Houston Astros Preview
Houston is starting to get healthier down the stretch, which doesn’t bode well for the AL West or any of the rest of the American League. Even a few years removed from their World Series, they remain one of the most talented teams in the league.
Carlos Correa is putting together his best season since 2017 this year. His slash line is .277/.370/.481, and he has 88 runs scored and 72 RBIs. He’s also gone deep 21 times this season.
Alex Bregman returned from the IL at the end of August. Bregman hadn’t played since early June but looks to pick up where he left off. The Astros need Bregman to find his rhythm and do so quickly.
It will be Framber Valdez facing off with the Padres on Saturday. Valdez is in the midst of a great season so far.
He has a 2.91 ERA in 105 innings pitched over 17 starts this season. His record is 9-4, and he’s accumulated 2.3 bWAR.
San Diego Padres Preview
Joe Musgrove heads to the hill for San Diego on Saturday, and he has been no slouch himself. He’s put up a 9-3 record and accumulated 3.1 bWAR.
His ERA is 2.85 in 25 starts this season. Quite the surge for the 28-year-old.
Offensively, this team is led by Fernando Tatis Jr. and his 1.000 OPS. Tatis is putting together an absolutely ridiculous stat line on the season.
He already has 26 home runs and 82 RBIs on the season. Tatis will continue this tear through the end of the season.
Manny Machado is putting together a heck of a season as well in 2021. Machado has 26 doubles and 87 RBIs on the year. Not quite the Manny of old, but pretty close.
The heart of the Padres lineup is terrifying with both Machado and Tatis, plus rookie Jake Cronenworth has been fantastic. Cronenworth may win Rookie of the Year in the National League.
Padres Win at Home
Musgrove, coming off a complete-game shutout, carries his momentum into Saturday’s contest and is able to keep the Astros lineup at bay.
With Valdez and Musgrove on the mound, we don’t expect many runs for either team in this game. BetUS has the run total set at 7.5 runs, and we don’t believe they make it. Take the under on the total for -110 odds.
As for the spread, we like the Padres -1.5 on their home turf. San Diego is only 31-40 against the run line at home, but having Musgrove on the mound helps them improve in that area.
San Diego scores a few early in a low-scoring affair. Take the Padres -1.5 and under 7.5 runs.
