Brief introduction to League 1 Standings
Ligue 1 is the premier professional competition in France. Its initial version was released in 1932, and it did many remarkable things. Ligue 1 is now ranked fifth in France’s UEFA coefficient, and three of its teams have qualified for the lucrative UEFA Champions League.
Ligue 1 is the highest level of professional association football for men in France. The Ligue de Football Professionnel oversees this competition. The top 20 French football clubs participate much against or according to the current Ligue 1 odds ( the Professional Football League- LFP).
Understanding Leauge 1 Standings
The format of Ligue 1 has undergone numerous transformations before its current incarnation.
During the current season, which spans from August to May, all 20 clubs play each other twice, once at home and once away. There are 38 total games in the league, and Ligue 1 picks and pundits get to air their predictions.
When a team wins, it receives three points; when it ties, one point, and when it loses, it receives no points. At the end of the season, the champion is the team with the most points.
If both teams have the same points, the winner is determined by goal differential and goals scored. Both teams are in the same position if they have the same number of points.
If there is a tie for the championship, relegation, or qualification for other tournaments, the order of the teams is determined by a play-off match at a neutral site.
The three best teams in Ligue 1 qualify for the UEFA Champions League based on their UEFA coefficient. The top two teams advance directly to the group stage, while the third-place team must compete in the final qualifying round.
The Europa League is accessible to the fourth-placed club. The Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue champions fight for the remaining two berths in the Europa League.
If these two teams have already qualified for Europe based on their league position, the fifth and sixth-place teams in Ligue 1 will be eligible for the Europa League.
