The English Premier League is the most-watched league globally, and this season did not disappoint. The EPL standings were still in question as we entered the last day of the season, including the title race, European places, and the relegation battle. English Premier League Top Table Clubs
The title race was between Manchester City and Liverpool, with favorites Manchester City winning the title coming back from 2-0 down against Aston Villa to win 3-2 and secure the title. Liverpool won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and lost the Champions League to Real Madrid but fell short to Manchester City by one point. Manchester City wrapped up the EPL season with a 29-6-3 record and 93 points under Pep Guardiola. Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp fell short by finishing with 92 points with a 28-8-2 record.
The top 4 of the English Premier League ended with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham. Arsenal finished in 5th place, putting them in the Europa League under Mikel Arteta. Manchester United finished in 6th place and dramatically underperformed after signing Cristiano Ronaldo last summer. West Ham United finished in 7th place and confirmed UEFA Conference League.
English Premier League Mid Table Clubs
The mid table clubs are the clubs that missed European places but were not really in question to get relegated. The clubs include Leicester City, Brighton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Aston Villa, Southampton.
English Premier League Bottom Table Clubs
Watford and Norwich were the two clubs that really struggled in the 2022 season. Watford finished with 23 points and Norwich with 22 points. As mentioned earlier, the relegation battle came down to the last day between Leeds United and Burnley. Leeds United survived after Burney lost to Newcastle on the last day of the season, and Leeds United won over Brentford. Everton had a terrible season and was in the relegation battle until securing safety with an unbelievable comeback against Crystal Palace. Watford, Norwich, and Burnley will enter the Championship, and Fulham, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest will join the EPL.
