Understanding the EPL Schedule
The EPL is a 20-team league, with each team playing the other teams twice throughout the season – once at home and once away. This year, the season may start on August 11th and end around May 19th. Each team will play 38 games, and the EPL picks become competitive.
Teams play home and away games alternately. For example, if Team A plays Team B at home on Matchday 1, then Team A will play Team B away on Matchday 18. Or, if Team C plays Team D away on Matchday 5, they will play each other at home on Matchday 28.
When it comes to derbies, this is a match between two local rivals. In the EPL, there are a few notable derbies: for example, the Manchester derby between Manchester City and Manchester United and the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool. As well, we have the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
EPL Games
The EPL games are played on Saturdays and Sundays. There are also a few midweek fixtures played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. The games are usually played at 3 pm (GMT) on Saturdays and 4 pm (GMT) on Sundays.The EPL title race is always competitive and thrilling. It has been a two-horse race between Liverpool and Manchester City in the past few years.
However, the title race could be even more exciting with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur looking strong and the EPL odds getting better in the just-concluded season.Finally, the EPL schedule concludes with all 20 teams playing each other on the season’s final day. The team that finishes first in the standings is crowned champion. If there is a tie for first place, the title is decided by goal difference.
