Brief Introduction to Bundesliga Matchups
Bundesliga is one of the most popular domestic championships globally and a competition with a long and rich history. It was established in 1963, but the roots of football in Germany have been present for more than a century.
Several of the most famous soccer teams in the world are playing in the Bundesliga – Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, etc.
Because of all that, Bundesliga odds and Bundesliga picks are very popular among the bettors.
Understanding Bundesliga Matchups
The rules are straightforward and clear. We have 18 teams competing, and they are playing 34 games throughout the season, one at home and on the road with each opponent. The top four are heading to the UEFA Champions League, while the bottom two get relegated to the second tier. There is a relegation playoff between the 18th in Bundesliga and the third from the Zweite.
Bayern Munich is a dominant force in the country, setting numerous records and winning all the Bundesliga titles in the past decade. Things weren’t like that before, and we constantly saw some changes on the top, with Borussia Dortmund, Werder, and Wolfsburg getting the Meisterschale, as the fans call the title trophy.
Over a recent couple of years, new forces emerged, threatening to dethrone Bayern, like RB Leipzig, one of the fastest-growing clubs and organizations in Europe. Eintracht won the Europa League, and they too have big ambitions, while other powerhouses like Monchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen always wait for their chance to jump in and make a run at the silverware.
Bundesliga gave three different European champions and numerous winners of other continental competitions. It is also a foundation for the German national team, Die Mannschaft, who won four World Cup and three EURO titles. The density of world-class players in this league is enormous, making it one of the top three national competitions globally.
Each season carries a lot of excitement, with fierce battles and memorable events. It was like that in the past, and no doubt, it will be like that in the future.
