Patriots @ Texans O/U 39.5
This is an extremely low projected number regardless of who is playing. It is more understandable when you factor in that Bill Belichick knows how to shut down opposing offenses, and the Texans are without their star quarterback Deshaun Watson for the season, and Tyrod Taylor is injured for the foreseeable future.
According to the betting lines from Bovada, the Patriots are 9 point favorites. There is a good chance that Mac Jones and company are able to score more than 25 points in this game.
Houston features one of the worst-ranked defenses in the NFL and have given up 29 points per game. This could lead to a breakout game for this Patriots offense, who showed signs of life with a very impressive performance against the Buccaneers a week ago.
The Texans could easily find some garbage time points as well if this game ends up as lopsided as the odds predict.
I don’t expect this to exactly be a high-scoring game, but a total of just 39 feels too low. Bet the over on this matchup.
Bills @ Chiefs O/U 56.5
In complete contrast to the projected low-scoring affair we just discussed, the Bills and Chiefs will face off in a battle of high-octane offenses.
Kansas City’s defense has labored through their past few games and have allowed over 30 points per game on the season. The Buffalo defense has been excellent this year as they already have two shutouts through their first four contests, but trying to contain this Chief’s offense is an incredibly tall task.
The Bills are going to score a lot this week. They have scored over 30 points in three out of games this season, led by Josh Allen and the talented passing game. Expect that trend to continue on Sunday against Kansas City.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs might be stifled a bit by the Buffalo defense, but they will still find a way to break through and turn this into an exciting shootout.
Bovada also has Kansas City as a three-point favorite. If the Chiefs are going to win, it means that they will have to score an abundant amount of points.

The biggest talking point for the Jaguars following their Thursday Night Football loss last week has been the Urban Meyer controversy. The incident has led to a major distraction, and it will be interesting to see how the team performs on Sunday.
On the other hand, Tennessee has been one of the most average teams in the NFL this season. They head into NFL Week 5 with a 2-2 record, and their only standout is the monster that is running back Derrick Henry.
Both defenses have been less than mediocre this year, as Jacksonville is giving up 28.8 points per game while Tennessee is surrendering 27.8 points per game.
According to BetUS, The Titans are 4.5 point favorites. The drama that has surrounded the Jags this week could hinder the overall performance of the team. There is a good chance that the Titans end up blowing out Jacksonville, which has me worried about taking the over in this one.
Realistically, the Titans should be about to score at least 25 points. The concern is Jacksonville, as the most points they have posted in a game this year is 21, and I don’t expect them to reach that number on Sunday. If the Titans enter the fourth quarter with a lead, they will be forced to try and run the clock out, which might limit their overall point production.
With all of this being said, betting the under is the smart play in this matchup.
