Which Team Gets Out of the Middle of the Pack

The San Jose Sharks will head to St. Louis to take on the Blues in this Western Conference matchup. The puck drop for this game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. eastern from the Enterprise Center.

The Sharks come into this game after a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild. This win stopped the potential three-game losing streak that the Sharks were headed for. The Blues have now moved to a four-game losing streak. Losing games is not fun for anyone, but losing games to the worst team in the league stings a little more, which is what happened in St. Louis when they lost 2-3 to the Coyotes.

Betting Analysis For Sharks at Blues

Sharks Betting Stats & Analysis

The Sharks have won two of their last five games, taking their overall record to 8-6-0-1. With these 17 points, they are currently sixth in the Pacific Division. While the Sharks did win their last game, offensively, they have struggled a bit. In their last five games, the Sharks are averaging 2.6 goals per game.

The Sharks are led offensively by Logan Couture and Timo Meier. Both players have accrued 14 total points. Couture has scored six goals and added eight assists to get to 14 points. Meier has replicated the same stats, scoring six goals and eight assists.

The Sharks dealt with drama over the offseason with Evander Kane. That seems to be their only real roster issue at this point, as they are not dealing with many people on their injury report.

James Reimer and Adin Hill have split the games so far this season at goalie. Reimer is currently 4-2-0-1 and is giving up 1.71 goals per game. Hill is 4-4 and is giving up 3.11 goals per game. After this many starts, it would be tough not to start giving Reimer more of the workload as he has proven himself to be tough in net.

Blues Betting Stats & Analysis

The Blues are currently struggling to get the big goal when they need it. All four of the games they have lost on this streak have been by a single goal. Their most recent loss to the Coyotes, 2-3, was a back and forth affair until the Blues failed to answer in the third period.

Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, and Vladimir Tarasenko lead the Blues offense. Kyrou is leading the team in points with 17, scoring seven goals and assisting on ten others. Thomas is leading the team in assists with 15 while adding a single goal to give him 16 total points. Tarasenko is leading the team in goals with seven while also adding seven assists to give him 14 total points.

The Blues are finally getting guys off the injury report. Oskar Sundqvist played his first game of the season the other night after an injury that kept him out until this point. The big name on the report is Brayden Schenn, who is a do it all type of player. It does not sound like he will be back anytime soon with an upper-body injury.

Jordan Binnington has started a majority of the games for the Blues. He has a 6-4-1-1 record and is giving up 2.83 goals per game. While Binnington has been playing pretty well in the net for the Blues, they would still like to see him improve on his goals per game average, as 2.83 is the highest it has been since his rookie year.

How To Bet On: San Jose at St. Louis – Betting Lines (Spread, totals, moneyline)

When betting moneylines, there is not a ton of money to be made. If you were to take the St. Louis Blues, with the best odds at -155, and put $100 on them to win, you would only cash out $164.

The best bet to make on hockey is if the underdog seems to be the team that will win. In this scenario tonight, if the Sharks were to win, at +140 with a $100 bet, the bettor would get a $240 payout.

The Blues are, on paper, the better hockey team. They have way more skill guys and goal scorers. The Sharks have had their ups and downs all year and are coming off a big road win. Both teams are relatively even in terms of the Sharks on the road and the Blues at home.
