Online Betting Sports – Expert Picks, News and Betting Predictions – Tennessee Titans vs Atlanta Falcons NFL Preseason Match-up

Titans at Falcons Betting Preview

The Tennessee Titans face the Atlanta Falcons to kick off their respective preseason campaigns this year.

NFL Preseason Week 1 can be hard to nail down when it comes down to playing time and how we expect teams to deploy their players. This means that as the game gets closer, we want to monitor the coaches and see if they indicate who they expect to play. We could see teams not letting starters touch the field, and we could also see up to a quarter of the starters and a half from the second string.

When we are looking at the preseason, we need to think about what teams are trying to figure out and what they already know. While the preseason can be used as a time to get a feel for the game again, a lot of teams have been using it as more of a roster management aide. That means focusing on the back half of the roster in the preseason. I would expect this to be the case for both teams in this situation.

What is each team looking for? The Titans are a team that I would regard as a pretty content team with their current situation. Most of their key pieces are back, and they aren’t relying on a ton of new production. Julio Jones is a welcome addition for Corey Davis, but Julio will not play in this game, so it’s really not relevant in this game.

Do guys like Ryan Tannehill and AJ Brown need to play? No, and they won’t, which means we will see a heavy dose of Logan Woodside in the first half and maybe even beyond. Either way, I don’t expect them to move the needle more than 1 or 2 possessions.

The Titans are replacing their OC, as Arthur Smith is on the other sideline as the Falcons HC. I don’t expect this transition to require a lot of player personnel changes in regards to playing time, but it could be a reason for the Falcons to play some starters for a bit of time.

The Falcons are much more of an unknown, and I think that this should mean that some of these key starters see some kind of playing time. While he doesn’t feel like a vet, Calvin Ridley doesn’t need to play, and neither does Matt Ryan, but I would expect them to see reps to get the rest of the offense in a flow.

Arthur Smith will probably want to figure out roles for players like Hayden Hurst and Kyle Pitts, and this would be a good setting to see them play for a quarter or so. Most of the time, coaches will be transparent about this playing time closer to game time, but we haven’t had much news on the Falcons.

Behind the first teams, I see almost nothing exciting for either team, and I will simply call this a wash, just like Vegas has when we look at the line. I do think that the Falcons are more likely to play their starters and play them more time under a new coaching staff, and that is where I will lean in this game.

I like the Falcons here on the moneyline at -140. This is really dependent on the starter time and the ability of Felipe Franks in the second half. I expect Frank’s to have a high rushing floor that should allow the Falcons to score at a decent clip.
