Check out our betting preview and prediction for the MLB match between the Giants and Dodgers. Stay tuned for more MLB picks!

Giants Dominate Game 1

From beginning to end, the Giants were better than the Dodgers last night. They pitched it better, they hit it better, and they fielded it better than the Dodgers. Logan Webb had one of the best pitching performances of the MLB postseason last night. Going 7.2 innings, allowing just five hits, had ten strikeouts, and did not allow a single run.

The Dodgers just did not put up the fight that everyone expected. Coming off a walk-off victory earlier this week, it was expected for the Dodgers to come out with all types of energy. Unfortunately, that product was not received, and the Dodgers were mediocre all game. The Dodgers do not have enough time to dwell on it, though; they have to turn around and play this evening.

Betting Odds & Lines

BetUS has the Dodgers as a very slight moneyline favorite at -108. The Giants moneyline is currently at -102.

Over at BetOnline, they also have the Dodgers, the moneyline favorite but have the Giants with better odds at +100. Bet online has the run total at 7½ while BetUS Sportsbook has it at 7.

Short Memory for the Dodgers

The great thing about playoff baseball is you rarely get time to think about a loss. Getting dominated in a single game, you have less than 24 hours before you have to be back on the field to play again game 2. Although the Dodgers were not able to take away a victory from the game last night, there were a few positives to look at going forward.

Mookie Betts had another two-hit performance, giving him back-to-back nights of two hits. If Betts, who had not recorded a multi-hit game since the middle of September, can get going at the top of this lineup, he may be the spark the team needs to get going. Will Smith, the Dodgers catcher, also recorded two hits after only a single hit in his last six games.

Ride the Logan Webb Momentum

If anyone got a chance to watch the game last night, they got to watch one of the most dominant pitching performances in recent history. Webb had everything working; his fastball was corner to corner, avoiding the middle of the plate, while his offspeed pitches were almost unhittable last night. The Giants are hoping for the same results tonight when they send Kevin Gausman to the mound.

Last night, the Giants’ big trade deadline move looked to pay off almost instantly as Kris Bryant was able to go three for three and add a home run. Bryant has talked extensively about feeling good in San Francisco, and this postseason performance is the icing on the cake. The Giants also added home runs from Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford.

Pitching Matchup

The Dodgers will send their NL Cy Young hopeful Julio Urias to the mound this evening. Urias started 32 games this season, accumulating a 20-3 record with a 2.96 ERA. In his last start against San Francisco at the beginning of September, Urias threw 5.2 innings, giving up just a single run, with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Kevin Gausman, another Cy Young hopeful, will take the mound for the Dodgers. Gausman started 33 games this season, accumulating a 14-6 record with a 2.81 ERA. The strikeout artist recorded 227 strikeouts in 192 innings.

The Picks

The momentum will be riding very high tonight as the Giants will look to take a 2-0 lead in a best of five series. The Giants run into one of the most dominant pitchers of the regular season, but they have been successful in winning three of four of Urias’ starts.

Take the Giants to win again tonight as a home dog at +100.
