Check out our betting preview and prediction for the MLB match between Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers.

Dodgers Host Brewers on Final Day

The Los Angeles Dodgers will still have a chance to win the NL West for the ninth straight season when they host the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday on the final day of the MLB regular season.

The Dodgers have won the first two games of the series against the Brew Crew, and coupled with the Giants losing on Saturday, LA is just one game back.

Of course, the Dodgers will need to complete the sweep of Milwaukee on Sunday and hope the Giants lose again to force a one-game playoff on Monday with the division title on the line.

Betting Odds & Betting Lines

As for Sunday’s game, according to BetUS, the Dodgers are heavily favored with a moneyline of -260 compared to Milwaukee’s moneyline of +210.

Meanwhile, BetOnline has similar betting odds with the Dodgers at -260 and the Brewers at +233. Both sites have an over/under of 8.5 runs.

On the Line

As mentioned, there is a lot on the line for the Dodgers on Sunday. With a six-game winning streak heading into the final game of the season, the Dodgers have won 105 games this year. But if they don’t win on Sunday and get help from the Padres beating the Giants, Los Angeles will have a date in the Wild Card Game with the Cardinals on Wednesday.

As for the Brewers, their playoff fate has been sealed for a while. They head into the final day of the regular season with 95 wins and a five-game cushion atop the NL Central. They will host the Braves in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday, although they would prefer not to enter the postseason on a four-game losing streak, especially since the Brew Crew has gone 6-11 down the stretch.

Mr. Anderson

Veteran Brett Anderson will take the mound for the Brewers on Sunday against his former team. The lefty has made 23 starts this year, going 4-9 with a 4.26 ERA, making him the weak link in Milwaukee’s rotation. Anderson has had his fair share of disappointing starts this year, although he managed to pitch five decent innings in his last start, giving up two runs on three hits against the Cardinals.

Of course, Anderson knows as well as anyone how dangerous the Los Angeles lineup can be. The Dodgers have flexed their offensive muscles during this series, scoring eight runs on back-to-back days. In fact, they’ve scored at least eight runs in four straight games, averaging 6.7 runs per game during their current six-game winning streak.

Walking the Walk

The Dodgers will be sending Walker Buehler to the mound on Sunday, as he makes his final argument in his case for the Cy Young. In 32 starts this year, Buehler is 15-4 with a 2.49 ERA and a WHIP of 0.97. While he’s had a rough September that’s hurt his case, Buehler also bounced back in his last start, tossing seven scoreless innings against the Padres, allowing just three hits.

The Cy Young hopeful will be facing an ice-cold Milwaukee lineup on Sunday. The Brewers have lost four of their last five games, averaging just 3.6 runs per game during that span.

The team-wide slump isn’t as bad as it sounds, but the Brewers haven’t hit for a lot of power lately, and they aren’t picking up the big hit in run-scoring situations.

We’re Saying There’s a Chance

While there is little upside to betting on the Dodgers at -260, Los Angeles is a safe bet on Sunday. The Dodgers have plenty of motivation and should be able to do some damage against Anderson.

With Buehler starting for the Dodgers in a must-win game, bet on LA to win on Sunday.
