Texas A&M Aggies Betting Odds: 2021 Win Totals

The Aggies finished the 2020 college football season with just a single loss to eventual national champion Alabama and had one of the most successful seasons since the program joined the SEC in 2012. The expectations have followed the Aggies, at least with the sportsbooks. Texas A&M needs to reach double digits for just the third time in 25 years. Keep on reading: Texas A&M Aggies Betting Odds.

The Schedule

Alabama (10/9): The Tide come to Kyle Field to face the Aggies and the 12th Man as Texas A&M attempts to avenge their only loss from last year’s schedule. Nick Saban still owns an undefeated record against his former assistants, so Jimbo Fisher and company will have their work cut out for them. Alabama currently holds an eight-game win streak against the Aggies, dating back to Johnny Manziel’s heroics in their initial season in the SEC. Alabama breaks in sophomore quarterback Bryce Young and a host of other starters after last year’s record-setting season. Will five weeks be enough for the Tide to find their stride, or will the Aggies catch them still trying to find their rhythm early in the season.

at Ole Miss (11/13): The Grove was recently voted the best campus in the SEC, and Lane Kiffin’s hoping he can help make Oxford a place opposing coaches fear when the schedule pops up. In year one, as coach of the Rebels, Kiffin nearly pulled the upset over Alabama after hanging 48 points on Nick Saban’s vaunted defense. Quarterback Matt Corral returns ready to light up opposing defenses, and Kiffin’s play-calling should give him every chance to do so. The Ole Miss defense has some work to do, but a late-season shootout at Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium could spell trouble for Texas A&M.

at LSU (11/27): The Tigers had the Aggies number during their introduction to the SEC, having won the first six matchups as conference foes, but A&M has taken two of the last three meetings, including 2018’s seven overtime thriller that featured 144 total points. LSU struggled to maintain the success that the 2019 season brought, but the Tigers remain loaded with talent as Coach O continues to recruit at a high level. Tiger Stadium is hardly the place you want to find yourself finishing up the regular season, especially as this matchup in Death Valley sets up perfectly for a vaunted night game.

The Team

Kellen Mond has moved on to the NFL after starting four seasons for Jimbo Fisher and Kevin Sumlin, leaving the one big question mark on the offense. Last year’s backup, Haynes King, battles Zach Calzada for the starting role, and whoever wins the job will have a collection of weapons to make their job easier. Running back Isaiah Spiller, tight end Jalen Wydermyer and all-around weapon Ainias Smith give the Aggies ways to attack defenses at every level.

On the defensive side of the ball, defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal projects as a first-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and is joined by a collection of young but talented prospects on either side. Leon O’Neal Jr. leads the secondary for Mike Elko’s unit that will try and hold down the fort while the offense finds their groove with a new quarterback.

The Bet: Under 9.5. This bet is one of the harder ones to pick among the top teams in college football this season. If any sportsbooks (BetUS) offer this line at 9 rather than 9.5, the decision changes to over. A 9-3 record feels like where the Aggies land at the end of the regular season, with the matchups listed above and breaking in a new quarterback.

Other Bets

Texas A&M SEC West Division Winner (+500): If Alabama struggles to replace all of the talent lost, the Aggies could sneak in and steal the division title away. A home win over the Tide in October would put Texas A&M in the driver’s seats on the road to Atlanta.

Texas A&M National Championship Winner (+3500): If the Aggies are able to get past Alabama, it means their quarterback play has elevated this team from borderline national contender to serious championship pedigree. An SEC West title would immediately put A&M in a position to play in the CFP and line up for a shot at the title.
